I went for the Mongolian buffet that’s currently on at M One restaurant at Millenium Place Hotel in Barsha. As I walked in with a friend who is also vegetarian like me, both of us had a sinking feeling that once again we will have to walk out dissatisfied and hungry because there clearly won’t be enough veg options for us to eat. The friendly staff at the restaurant also hinted at that and graciously requested us to tell us what we need and they will have it prepared which we deeply appreciated.
But before that one of the managers said, “let me show you what all we have,” and we were pleasantly surprised to see just the sheer number of vegetarian options that were already displayed on the buffet.
As we gradually started picking food, the chef had already sent a platter of vegetarian sushi on our table which was delicious. Meanwhile, the chef at the live noodles counter told us that he can whip up noodles of our choice with assorted vegetables - so we got that and I polished that off too. The buffet itself had assorted breads, veg dimsums, honey glazed potatoes, thai curry and steamed rice which are my absolute favorite. The best part was the chef also sent across a pot rice which was surprisingly a delicious veg biryani with Raita and papad et al. The deserts had some great picks too like the rice pudding, the a coffee based cheese cake were among the items I had. Overall, we came out fully satsified. At just 95 AED, this one is absolutely reviewron...

The hummus was decent, and probably the only thing I somewhat liked, but it’s not really enough to make a full meal. As for the desserts, the selection was quite small, and I was also concerned about potential cross-contamination, as all the serving utensils were mixed together — which can be risky for people with allergies.
I tried a green pudding that didn’t have much flavor, just a few raisins, and a small opera cake that lacked freshness and tasted very much like an industrial dessert.
In short, between the lack of allergy-friendly options, the overcooked meat, and the limited selection, I left the meal quite...
