The restaurant is on the second floor so it quite hard to see if you stay at the lake level. But I can say, it's a hidden gem to explore in JLT area. I tried Bun Ca and Banh Xeo today, the portion is very fulfilling. The Banh Xeo is crispy and has a lot of filling inside, the veggies to eat with are very fresh. The Bun Ca is very tasty but it needs some improvement in the noodles and the fried fish. The noodle sometimes tastes like uncooked and the fried fish is soaked so it tastes bad, I think they should remove the fried fish from this dish, the fish cake is good enough (give me more fish cakeeee). The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and cozy, it makes me feel like I'm eating in Vietnam. The restaurant staff are very friendly, they are all Vietnamese so we spoke a lot.
PS: This is my review from the second time I returned to this restaurant, I will explain why I deducted 2 stars from the review. I tried Banh Cuon this time, the portion was huge, and the plating was pretty but not value-worthy. They put very little filling so it made the fermented rice batter bland and boring even after I dipped it in the sauce. Secondly, the staff neglected me this time, there were two female staff and me in the restaurant and they talked to each other very loudly, they also talked with the kitchen staff something about their colleague's toothache. I don't mind if they want to chit chat but they should not neglect the customer. So in general, I think this will be the last time I visit this restaurant. Although the food is very good, their customer service makes me feel uneasy. If you don't mind about customer service, this is still a good restaurant.
P.P.S. I read the owner (or their staff) comment on this review so I wanted to give it another chance. I ordered the Beef Pho and Tamarind mocktail this time. The mocktail taste okay, it's a simple drink we have in Vietnam so this is the highest compliment I can give. The Pho is very tasty, the portion is big even I only ordered the small Pho. Their broth taste very light but savoury. They also took my feedback into consideration and the staff came to apologise me, that's why I raised the rating 4 stars. Good work, I hope you can...
Read moreA Hidden Gem in JLT. A must try. This place will totally satisfy your cravings. We came across this place while wanting to try some Authentic Vietnamese Food. The ambience was beautiful, they had outside terrace seating as well.
We were welcomed by Van the Food and beverage consultant who just enhanced our experience. He took us through the menu while explaining the dishes and recommended some as per our liking.
We were first given some Berry infused water complimentary, which was a refreshing start to a great meal.
We started with veg and non veg platter. We came with a portion of great selections like the papaya salad, tempura, duck in vine leaves, crab wonton. These were my favourites. I just couldn't get enough.
For the main course we had the Vegan Claypot which had tofu, brocoli and aubergine in a sauce served with a side of white rice. Along with this we had the Lemongrass Spicy Noodle with beef broth. This dish was my favourite. I could not get enough of it. It came with some herbs on the side. It's an authentic dish from Central Vietnam. Our final main course was the Signature Beef Bun with Sauce which was a like a salad with wok charred beef.
Everything was just so fresh and tasty. This place needs an absolute 💯. We will definitely we visiting again.
The portion size ans price is just so affordable and apt. Thanks saigon for our first Vietnamese Food experience. Thanks Van for taking such good...
Read moreI visited this wonderful restaurant recently and was really surprised and delighted to find a truly authentic Vietnamese restaurant here in Dubai. The menu is wholly Vietnamese, and I am sure the Vietnamese community was delighted to welcome this newcomer to the Dubai food scene and other people who like myself really enjoy authentic Vietnamese food. I am a vegetarian and the friend who come with me to this restaurant is not. Our host Van offered to give me the vegetarian version of Nem Nem which are my friend’s favourite dish. The vegetarian version was delicious. I also enjoyed summer rolls which were wonderfully fresh and a tofu and aubergine stew served in a claypot. My friend said her duck breast was amazing. We finished our meal with a refreshing coconut sorbet and coconut milk desert with tapioca and sweet potato bites.
I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. If you want to enjoy good food and a really reasonable price this is the place. I will be going back for sure.
To all vegans and vegetarians out there, visit this restaurant and they will be sure to make an all out effort to serve you a really excellent meal and veganise any Vietnamese dish.
For those who enjoy meat my friend enjoyed every meat dish...
