A small place decently tucked into a line of restaurants panning over the lake view. It has an outdoor seating too where you can enjoy the beautiful weather and the view. With bright lights and wooden flooring it has a nice touch in the décor perspective.
Bite Board
Mango Lassi: A best-seller that is loved by all, but not the right choice for us, since we are not a fan of the combination. We would prefer with fresh juices instead and went along with an orange juice that was refreshing.
Ginger Mojito: A nice twist to the regular flavors that you usually find elsewhere. Its a combination of ginger, mint, lime and ginger ale and needless to say we loved it!
Cheesy Mushroom Bombs: One of our favorite highlight of the evening. These cheesy delicacies were a pure delight to devour! The combination is a match made in heaven. One bite and you have the cheese oozing out, still drooling while thinking about it. We definitely recommend trying it out!
Beetroot Galouti Kebabs: Now we are sure you have not heard of this one before. It was our first time trying it and we surely liked the addition of beetroot. Thankfully, it was not overly sweet which would have been a buzzkill, which is always a worry with the beetroot, but this one here pair it with the mint chutney and you have got a great starter on your hands to relief those hunger pangs.
Paneer Lababdaar: A creamy cashew curry with mouthwatering chunks of paneer that went well with the bread basket. The bread basket includes, different sorts of breads such as butter roti, stuffed kulchas, naans which can easily suffice for two people.
Dal Makhani Tadka: A steamy hot dal tadka which felt a slightly bland as being spice fanatic we expected a little more from this dish. It goes well when paired with butter Naan. Would recommend it to those looking for something mild.
SK Special Biryani: A hearty dish with perfectly cooked vegetables, aromatic rice and overall perfectly seasoned. It’s a typical vegetable biryani that’s comes in a good portion that’s enough for two.
Gulab Jamun: We have had better ones before nothing worth raving about.
Gajar Ka Halwa: We liked how the sweetness was just right but sadly the carrots seemed slightly undercooked which took away the fun from enjoying it completely. Also, we would have preferred it with a scoop of ice-cream to go with.
The servers are warm and friendly.
We were not provided with the menu, so cannot give an idea about the pricing.
We might come back for the mushrooms, and try out...
Read moreSpice Kraft is yet another great food haunts by me in the ever growing fleet of restaurants around JLT. It serves an array of North Indian food, Indo fusion snacks, chaat items along with Indo Chinese delicacies. This is a modest place with small and simple interiors with both indoor n outdoor seating overlooking the lake.
As recommended by the staff there, for starters we had dragon paneer n tandoori dhokla. I expected dragon paneer to be like spicy but it was mildly spiced with chunks of paneer coated gently with Chinese sauces. It was good but lacked the wow factor. Tandoori dhokla was pretty novel to our tastebuds. Dhokla cubes coated in tandoori marination n grilled to perfection. I never had anything like this before. Now this dish is very adaptive in taste and it grows unto you owing to its strong mustard flavor. If you are a fan of mustard you will love it or else unlike my husband it would just be too strong n pungent flavour for him. But for me it was novel dish, dhokla was super soft, moist n tandoori masala blended gently and grilled. Just the strong mustard flavour was there which I guess was the purpose of the dish. You can try it on your own. For drinks we had mango lassi and ginger mint lemonade and both were upto the mark and was equally refreshing.
For mains we had seekh ki sabzi and Dal Makhani along with naans. Now again on servers recommendations seekh ki sabzi was amazing, very innovative and super delicious serving veg seekh kebabs topped over rich gravy which itself tasted yummilicious. It wasn't your normal Makhani tomato Gravies but a very delicious n creamy blend of spices and flavours. A MUST TRY for sure. Dal Makhani was thick, creamy and topped with dollop of butter went nicely with the fresh naans alongside.
For desserts we had gulab Jamun and kulfi. It's very difficult to dislike either and here there was no exception, both were equally delectable. Service could be more swifter but I guess owing to various deliveries it was a bit slow. Overall, this place is definitely recommended for its great vegetarian food and I am looking forward to try more of its deliciousness real...
Read morePlace – Its located in cluster I, there is ample parking space. Parking is free for the first 3 hours. We went on a Friday evening so parking was totally free. If you are going there for the first time it’s very easy to get lost as locating the clusters can be a bit confusing. The place is small, having 5-6 tables inside and a few tables outside. We chose indoor seating. The place got full very soon and there were people waiting.
Food – it’s a vegetarian restaurant, but we had in mind that we won’t be trying the paneer. Starting with juices we ordered fresh watermelon juice and ginger mojito. For starters we went in for dahi papdi chaat and hara bhara kebab. For the mains we had rotis, garlic naans, sabzi deewani handi, jeera rice and double dal Tadka.
The starters were very good. It’s kind of raised our expectations regarding the food. The watermelon juice was good but the ginger mojito was just too gingery…it was a bit too strong. The hara bhara kebab was flavourful without being too oily.
The sabzi deewani handi was good and we were glad that we didn’t opt for a paneer dish. It’s full of veggies and the gravy was smooth and the combination was excellent with rotis. The butter garlic naan was dripping in butter, not for people who are on a diet. The rice and the dal was disappointing. The jeera in the jeera rice was fried a bit too much and the amount of oil in the dal double tadka was unimaginable. The dal didn’t even taste very good. I guess the double tadka kind of spoilt it for us.
Service – the service was so bad. We saw only 2 guys attending everyone. After waiting for a long time we could catch hold of them. The place gets so noisy. Everyone’s voice starts echoing and you feel like a fish market. It’s better to place all your order all at once.
On the whole the meal was decent and the...
