Crossing borders has deliciously become convenient at this restaurant.
We started off our lunchin’ with some complimentary snacks- Roomali roti deep fried, mildy seasoned with spices and served with raita(savoury yogurt based dip). I found this unique, so crunchy and the dip was just perfect, loved it! .
Let’s move onto our favourites, going through their menu had us craving for a lot of things all at once, but finally we settled on- ‘Sthan Signature Kebab Platter’: this famous street grill consists of Chilli Milli Tangdi(chicken drumsticks), Shami Kebab(flattened patty’s), Murgh Malai Kebab(chicken marinated in cream and grilled) and Murgh Abhir Tikka(chicken marinated in spices). We loved these kebabs, so tender, succulent, spicy and full of aromatic flavours. Just squeeze some and dunk em’ into the chutney and your tastebuds shall do the rest.
‘Afghani Kali Mirch’: this dish is made of cracked black pepper, spiced chicken that has been cooked in a yogurt based onion curry, taking our hunger to another level. The rich texture of this curry made it so creamy, and no worries the onions weren’t overwhelming, they were just right! . What amazes me is that the juicy chicken simply melts in your mouth, too good y’all! . We paired our dishes with some warm buttery garlic naan, and we devoured our food in silence.
For beverages, I knew I had to give their ‘Goli Botal’ a go, I chose the Desi Faanta flavour, so good the combination of fanta with ginger just the right amounts of tang and spice. Also, the fun part is pushing down the marble to open the bottle making the sound of a gun, hence, “goli”. And finally, Masala Cola: another must have, if you know you know, or go try it.
We ended our meal @sthandubai with their dessert, it’s a must! . They have tempting options in their menu to settle your cravings on. I’ve always seen this sweeteat on my feed and a lot of people talk about this famous Indian dessert, so I had to go for it. ‘Kala Jamun’: these golden goodies are fried spheres of khoya(thickened milk), soaked in saffron sugar syrup, coated with finely shreded coconut and the best part the rabri(sweetened condensed milk) with strawberry syrup. My first impression of this was a delightful sugar rush experience, I really loved it! . You can taste the thickened milk in this fried goodness the sweetness of the syrup wasn’t overpowering and the creaminess of the rabri just brought everything together with the slight crunch of the pistachios and tartness of the berry, just too good y’all! . If you have never tried Kala Jamun, then this is your calling.
Food beyond borders is what you’ll find here @sthandubai , conveying the authenticity of each cuisine all under one roof.
I’ll start off with their variety of dishes to get your tastebuds tingling from each region, I love how they portrayed these cuisines with concise explanations and the overall presentation of the menu itself looks appealing- kudos to great food photography skills here. The ambiance of this eatery conveys a sense of calm and funky vibes, with their bright colors, furnishings and spacious seating areas. They have captured the art of modernism yet remained true to its roots.
Lovely food and atmosphere here, perfect for family gatherings, friends or even better if you’d like to introduce someone to try something new, this place is it. True flavours are evident in the food being served here, there is a lot to explore on their menu from beverages to street food and more, this place is a must visit! .

Read moreMust Try: Nalli Biryani (available on weekends only).
Located in a heart of karama, Sthan is quite well known amongst the residents here.
True to its name, the multi cuisine restaurant offers dishes from Hindustan (India), Pakistan and Afghanistan. With two floors for seating, the restaurant is quite spacious and follows social distancing.
We started with Pahadi Kebab with Mint Chutney. It was succulent and flavorful and the mint chutney had a touch of spiciness which complimented the kebabs well. For the main course, we tried Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan and their signature biryani, Nalli Biryani, which is available only on the weekends. The main course definitely ticked all the boxes. The Butter Chicken was creamy and delicious and the naan was buttery and fresh. The highlight of the evening was the Nalli biryani. They serve a whole bone along with the biryani rice. The mutton meat just fell off the bone and the masala was amazing. I cannot recommend this dish enough. To down the main course, we decided to try their Masala Tea. While the flavour of the Masala Tea was nice, it was too watered down and weak. We requested if they could make the tea a bit stronger or keep the tea bag in for some more time. This was taken on board but, unfortunately, it ended up being more watered down which was underwhelming considering the food was amazing in comparison. Had the tea been a little strong, it would have amazing. To end the culinary adventure with a bang, we tried the Parle G Ice Cream Sandwich. The presentation was lovely and it is Kulfi Ice Cream which went well with the Parle G biscuits.
The servers are polite and quite helpful with suggestions. Also, the portion size is great for the price range.
Its a nice place for causal family dinners or with friends. Overall a lovely...
