Susan is a cozy and relaxing café located right in the heart of downtown Dubai, just steps away from the Boulevard and close to all the city’s main attractions. From the moment you arrive, you feel a sense of calm thanks to the beautifully curated aesthetic and warm ambiance. Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to get some work done, have a casual meeting, or enjoy a slow coffee break, Susan is the perfect place to unwind.
The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating options, each thoughtfully arranged with a strong focus on comfort and visual appeal. The indoor area features a clean, minimal yet cozy design, while the outdoor space is perfect for enjoying the cooler days or people-watching in the vibrant city center. You’ll also notice the attention to small details—decorative touches, curated background music, and warm lighting that create a truly inviting atmosphere.
The staff here is one of the highlights. They’re incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help you choose something if you’re unsure. Their friendly approach makes you feel welcomed and encourages you to stay longer than you planned.
As for the drinks, the Spanish latte I had was just right—creamy and well-balanced without being overly sweet. If you’re into matcha, you’re in for a treat: theirs was rich in flavor, perfectly whisked, and not too bitter. The menu also offers a good variety of both hot and cold beverages, and there are light snacks and pastries to accompany your drink of choice.
Prices are in line with the standard for Dubai cafés, especially considering the prime location and the quality of the service and environment. Overall, Susan is more than just a coffee shop—it’s a place where you can pause, relax, and enjoy the moment. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, I highly recommend...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to Susan’s Baking Co & Cafe, I was immediately struck by the charming ambience of the place. It beautifully mimics the streets of London and Paris, yet with a unique Dubai twist, creating a delightful setting for a café experience.
The highlight of my culinary journey here was undoubtedly the croissant - fresh, flaky, and simply amazing, embodying the essence of what you’d expect from a top-tier bakery. However, the rest of the food offerings were somewhat average, lacking the distinctiveness that the croissant so impressively delivered.
Service, while friendly, could benefit from further refinement. It appears that the staff, particularly the newer members, could use additional training to enhance the overall customer experience. Efficient and attentive service is key, especially when a premium is charged, justified by the cafe’s prime location.
While I understand and appreciate the premium associated with the location, I believe for a truly extraordinary 360-degree experience, both food and service should match that level of excellence. The potential is there, and with some adjustments, Susan’s Baking Co & Cafe could transform into a place that fully encapsulates the essence of fine dining in a casual,...
Read moreHad high hopes for this searching breakfast spots downtown. What a let down. Tables outside were basically abandoned. Had to go inside to ask for menus. Drinks took ages and the food over an hour. We ordered jalapeño poppers, a egg and spinach bagel and the eggs Benny. After more than an hour and having to go and ask for our order we were presented with two cold plates that had clearly been sitting for some time. The bagel was below average and the eggs Benedict was ice cold, crusty and served on an English muffin that looked like it was made out of play dough. When complaining we were told that they are busy, what to do. I never received the jalapeño poppers, luckily was not charged for it either.
The tables inside were not many, yet most of them were left dirty, no clean ashtrays. We received only one set of silverware for two people and they didn’t remove any of the items we complained about. This place is also very expensive for what is served.
The staff seem very keen and they are trying however there is an evident lack of training and management should address this.
That being said, the coffee was fantastic however Susan’s will not be seeing us again....
