Read moreAfter seeing posts on social media, I really wanted to try the VIP experience at Cinemacity. I thought that, being a smaller cinema, the VIP class would be more... classier.
Sadly, it wasn't.
Once we arrived at the counter, both booths were unavailable. A staff motioned us to go to the concession counter.
She was friendly, I have to say, and as efficient as she could muster.
Other cinemas have a lounge for VIP customers, where orders were taken by efficient staff. In this case, we were not told where to go. There was actually a proper lounge onsite but we weren't told. I accidentally found it while looking for our theater.
Upstairs at the theater lobby, no staff was around, either.
When we went in to our theatre, there were popcorn buckets and glasses left by previous customers still on the seats.
In fairness, the seats were comfortable. Blankets were provided but only when the movie began. The positive to that is that they were warmed blankets.
Food options were fine. Not all cinemas were actually licensed, only the one attached to the lounge.
I felt like the entire place is understaffed because the same lady at the counter delivered our food. The Lounge also didn't have anyone attending...
Read moreThe movie experience is good, I find it easy to get to the cinema by car than the one at Dubai Mall, the is a parking at the fountain view building complex abd from there you could go to the ground floor and walk to the cinema. The chairs inside are comfortable and the movie theater is not that big, so it is always better and more relaxing to enjoy the show when there are less people to go around. The food menu is good, it is certainly better than other movie theaters, and there are a lot of options to choose from. We have ordered the quinoa salamon salad and some edamame, also the mojito that we ordered was good. The service was not that great, the hostess was talking so loud when she was taking our order from our seats, she was not trying to whisper at all. Also, at some movie theaters here is the UAE you could order and pay from the comfort of your seat, the don't have that at Cinemacity, and even the menu website looks lists only the food available, they do not have a lot of pictures of the dishes that they serve. Overall, the experience was good and I hope that they could improve their website and App next time we pay...
