Black Sheep Coffee — Restaurant in Aberdeen City

I don't know what these reviews are on about, we had a great time. Needed a place to waste time and these guys were open till 9pm (perfect)

We'd seen the reviews and posts previously complaining about price and customer service, ect but decided to ignore them for a place to sit and have a drink

I'll give you that it is expensive, but what coffee place isn't - and with the sheer amount of customisation (that is confusing and overwhelming upon first glance) can easily perfect your drink or food.

And as for customer service - the two people on when we went in after 8pm were fantastic, they looked up as I approached the counter, didn't say anything (then I realised I could sit until it was ready as we used the kiosk machine) Once called it started as a basic interaction of "here you go" "thanks" "enjoy" until I open a conversation which both employees engaged with happily then I sat down with my friend to have our drinks

(Which were a subtle coffee flavour of the seasonal gingerbread latte(cbd oil shot) and a velvety very sweet hot chocolate that I customised to the max (cbod oil, whipped cream, hot milk instead of water(because you don't get a decent hot chocolate with just water) and 2 shots of salted caramel) and yes, this was expensive at over £7 but I was in the mood for a major treat and i got just exactly that (plus just the simple hot chocolate with hot milk would of been barely £4 and I don't think I'd of enjoyed it as much (we also tried the Norwegian waffle (biscoff) turns out i don't like the waffle but my friend loved it)))

Then as my friend went to the bathroom (were she got to use her radar key and was excited about that) I "annoyed" the employees with some questions, spoke about the reviews and posts, took the pictures and got a better feel for the place.

There wasn't many people in when we went, and yes my only gripe is that the seats are either uncomfortable high stools, weird metal chairs, painful wooden ones and a couple benches - but it's got different arrangements that would suit different time scales (we were there a while so sat at a booth which was fine)

Overall I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews and posts I've seen because I really enjoyed myself and definitely will be back! ((Pleaseeeee get some...

Myself and my partner ordered a hot chocolate and a matcha drink. My partner went and reserved a table for us while I waited. I just found the staff working on this day to be very nebbie to customers, literally screaming out their names when their drinks were ready. (Not in a nice way, just a way of 'you're an inconvenience to my day' sort of way). I could see other customers faces frowning when the staff done this. When customers went to collect their drinks, I would hear them say 'thank you' and there was nothing back from the staff. They just turned their backs. Now I saw the hot chocolate get put up when it was ready, and other customers names were getting called out to collect their drinks while mine was still sitting there. I let about 3/4 minutes go by and then I approached and ask if this was my order. I got a really short nebbie reply from the staff saying 'the other drink isn't ready yet'. So I said 'well I'll be taking this one so people aren't breathing all over my drink'. Got no response. I arrived to the table my partner was at and we were sitting there for another 3/4 minutes before the other drink was called. So my drink would have been sitting on the counter for easily 6/8 minutes. It was only like warm as well. Just a fairly bad experience this time. I really feel a customer care course is required...

Upon missing my train, i had decided to take a wonder around the station street. I had arrived at a massive car park and the back entrance to the union street centre. Using my time cautiously, i wondered through the union station and seen this cafe from afar. It had a particular vibe, which i was intrigued to checkout. With a little time on my hands, i decided to perch inside and grab a coffee.

I was greeted by a pleasant young man, whom had greeted me with respect and a warm manner. Not once did i feel hurried or disregarded but embraced by this gentleman's good manner. It is worth mentioning that the experience that I'd received was rare, not only because of the customer service. But because of the energy that this fellow man embodied within his activity. It was very noticeably the characteristics of someone who had passion & integrity for his craft and that is not common today.

Black Sheep, you guys are fortunate to have an asset of this magnitude on your roster. Ewan, keep implementing your heart and soul into your work and the world will share its' fruit.

It was only a small latte that i tried this time around, but i might say it was one of the most delicious coffees I've had in a long, long time. I'll be back.
