I was so excited to visit Tamp & Grind this week and the experience did not let me down. I really love to support independent coffee shops whenever I can, as it’s these establishments where the real gems in the coffee-sphere lie and therefore truly deserve to be raved about! The 40 mile-round trip to Tamp & Grind was definitely worth it.
The decor inside was stunning. From the funky, hanging bulbs to the coffee bean sack cushions. It was clear to see from the moment you walked in that every bit of detail had been carefully considered- without looking cluttered or over the top. I especially loved looking at the map on the wall that displayed the various local suppliers that Tamp & Grind champion and receive from. Not forgetting the very sweet photos of the dogs on the wall.
The coffee (black Americano) was like drinking liquid gold. It was rich, smooth and oh so delicious- one of the best Americano’s that I’ve had in a very long time. Again, it’s just another example that if people were to move away from the big chains, they too would experience what real coffee tastes like.
The young woman serving (who I really wished I’d gotten her name so I could give her a mention) was friendly, kind and approachable. She did a fab job managing the café alone during a particularly busy moment- and dealt very well with a customer ahead of me who ‘had a bee in her bonnet’, let’s just say. Her acknowledgment of other waiting customers and apologies for the delay in taking orders were offered on multiple occasions. You couldn’t have asked for a more conscientious server- hat’s off to you!
Myself and my friend only visited for coffee, therefore I could only gaze at the delicious- looking brownies and cakes but I didn’t want that to pull down my overall rating so I declare the food 5*... Although next time I will certainly be sticking my fork into one of those gooey brownies without any hesitation.
For 7 years Lancing was a place that made me shudder inside (purely due to my casually- repressed driving test horror of an experience) But now? No horrors lurk about in Lancing- it’s the home of...
Read moreIt is a small local cafe and the interior was quite nice with the personal touch, however the quality of coffee and food was low. We came here mainly for the red croissants we have seen on Google pictures, however they got discontinued. The pastry options were quite plain and the croissant we took didn’t feel fresh. It was quite disappointing to have to pay extra for soya milk that is a standard in all other places. There was no lactose free option either. The coffee itself wasn’t special. We got a magic and ice latte which had non dissolved white peaces in it. - I hope it wasn’t powdered milk or expired milk..! The last positive item was a beautiful pattern...
Read moreFrom day one, this has become my favorite coffee place. I always receive excellent service and have amazing choices to choose from. I usually order a turmeric latte with coconut milk and a shot of espresso, along with a white hot chocolate. Both are made with high-quality ingredients and taste delicious. The coffee is fresh, of very high quality, and prepared with an amazing technique to produce great brews. The bakery items are always fresh and tasty, and the service is fabulous. My family loves this place so much! I highly...
