Sat in the garden at The Beach Green Hotel at the weekend during a momentary break in the wind and treated myself to fish and chips, beer battered hake and I have to say it's was bloody lovely! Rare to have fish served that's as good if not better than a fish and chips shop but this was BANG on! Might have to bring my son in for Fish Friday. (This review is in fairness 3 weeks old but due to a failed upload of a photo the review hanged itself and never loaded, my bad) As a "regular" of the pub I have refrained until now to post a review. In fairness this review is solely aimed at the kitchen and at the fish... It was amazing! When Steven served me the fish I said if it wasn't up to standards I would let him know... If it was amazing I would post a review..... Steve, even as a regular I hold my hat of to you. I promised you an honest review and that's what you.got. The batter on that fish mate was not only totally on pont but is something you should be proud of to have served and me to eat, better than most fish and chips shops. I may have left the area, location wise, yet still travel to drink in the pub, my church. That in itself should say alot. .That fish was banging mate and I will deffo be bringing my son in for Fish Friday despite him being even more picky than me and us both now living outside the area. Out of 10... 10/10 and you know I was looking to beat it down despite not being able to. My children have previously worked here but my heart remains in the pub as does theirs, as at the end of the day despite some people's petty review based on them being barred... Some of us will never leave as it's home, and we, like staff are treated as such. If my children who have worked here were so badly treated you have to ask yourself why I, and indeed them would still drink here? Next Friday my son and I will be coming in for Fish Friday as honestly mate it was the best fish I have tasted. I tell you this now Steve... You keep serving fish like that and I will be in so many times despite some bitter people who can no longer enter the pub making out they do so by choice

Was looking for somewhere to get away to for a few days so discovered the lovely village of Lancing. I decided to stay in this hotel for a few nights with this being the only hotel available if you want to stay in Lancing itself, as opposed to a guest house or some Airbnb places. I preferred it here anyway than one of the chain hotels in the nearby Worthing. I phoned up to make my booking ahead of the trip which was easy to do with a friendly person at the other end of the phone. When I got there I was again greeted by friendly staff and also throughout my stay too which was pleasant. I was given a room at the very top of the hotel which gave a really nice view of the beach. The location of the hotel is ideal if you want to be near the coast and the beach itself. It is however on the corner of a main A-road so there are quite a few lorries and other regular traffic at various hours but it wasn't too bad. If I'm honest the room was adequate for what it was and the price I paid which was reasonable. It had all the facilities you'd want from the average hotel room along with a decent ensuite toilet/sink/shower. The bed was comfy, there was plenty of storage space, and a working TV, although I didn't watch too much of it, I was out and about instead. If you do want to go exploring maybe even until the late hours you're given an RFID key fob to let you into a side door so you don't need to pester any of the staff to get back to your room. Again with the location it's on a bus route along the coast so you can make your way as far as Brighton, or even with a few buses along to Portsmouth if you want. It's also a short walk from the train station which was how I got here. I can't comment much on the food as this wasn't available at the time when I stayed, but I was made aware of this when I booked and ate elsewhere anyway. I'd probably stay here again if I decide to come back which I probably would as it was a nice place, and this little hotel had a certain charm to it.

Such a lovely place. We stayed for 3 nights visiting family. Child and dog friendly with a good selection of freshly cooked food, gin ale and wonderful cocktails. The staff work as an efficient team (no one forgot our orders, food and drink deliveries were prompt and delivered with a smile, even on a busy Saturday and with a change of order) our thanks to the owner and the team Beth Sophie Rachel Ella and John (the chef). Room was warm clean and well provided for. Quiet considering it's just over the bar and faces out onto the road. Beautiful view out over the recreation green and the sea. We will be back as soon as we can.

Stayed for 2 nights good rooms Nice rooms staff very friendly and helpful gave great tips for me going off to a concert at Hove cricket ground ..easy to get to by train from there .. We had lunch very nice first Breakfast not very good and we waited a long time for poached eggs on toast I also ordered fresh fruit and yogurt to start and eggs and toast was given them all together eggs very hard And toast wet underneath.. But second breakfast was so much better piping hot full English everything hot and very tasty but we did wait for a pot of tea for a while and I asked for a top up of hot water but never got it back until I asked again for it ..on the whole a great place to stay good views great staff a couple of hiccups that's easy to put right none of which Would stop me returning to this Good find in lancing Oh there are quite a lot of steps to rooms so ask for lower rooms if its a problem and you park across the Rd in car park But very reasonable for all day parking...if you fancy a trip to lancing...
