The staff were friendly and the chef clearly spends time cooking things properly. My eggs florentine was very tasty, the poached eggs perfectly cooked. (My previous breakfast in Bognor was a dismal, overpriced breakfast quesidilla and bitter flat white at Bonito Lounge).
This place has a lot of potential to be the only 'modern' destination cafe in Bognor, which I think is the aim from the Instagram and reviews.
There's currently nowhere I could find in the town to get a top quality, speciality coffee, and excellent coffee would really attract an extra subset of customers I think.
A couple of things that I feel would help it stand out from everywhere else in Bognor:
really concentrate on getting the coffee nailed. The flat white I ordered was basically a hefty, average latte in a mug. The last great flat white I had was at Malt in Worthing, I'd check that place out and others like it. It should be in a smaller cup and much less milky for starters.
(Oh and the mug was handed to me by the rim rather than the handle, not ideal)
the interior isn't great. The flooring and furniture is pretty basic and unappealing. The toilet is a scruffy storage room. Scruffy can look great sometimes but for me didn't work in this context. Some more appealing flooring vinyl (or tiles) and tablecloths could be an easy way to improve this. Plus move on from the basic plastic chairs. Again, look at Malt and similar places.
keep with the excellent food!
Anyway, I hope these ideas are welcome and not seen as negative, and I wish them...

I wanted to give The Brunch House two stars but couldn’t find a good reason to do so.
Here’s my experience: Nobody greets you as you walk in or when you sit down. I did see the cook greet a guest but that’s only because he happened to be in the dining area at the time. The order taker isn’t as generous with her smiles or words. Coffee was nice and warm, hence the one star. Avocado on the toast was over ripe to the point of darkening all over. Did not get utensils or a napkin with meal. When I happened to be able to get them the napkin around the cutlery was soiled and damp. Food was bland, tasteless and left a lot to be desired. The pancakes are definitely not don’t to order. There were stacks and stacks of them pre-done behind the counter. Cheese sandwich is cold bread with cold shredded cheese sprinkled in between. Counts, I guess.
Can’t say I’ve ever had such a bad experience at a cafe to the point that I couldn’t wait to leave. There’s a first time for...
Read moreProbably the best breakfast in the local area. Generally all freshly made although I do think the ingredients have varied between the two times I went - which was a bit of a shame but really the only detractor on the food front. Portions are large (so bear in mind - between two we shared an English breakfast and a kids portion of waffles and it was more than enough for 2) Generally quality of ingredients seems good - and is generally a good place to go in a cute little building.
Service falls short a bit - always feels a bit uninspired and one of the times I went (it was fairly quiet at this point) it took roughly 20 minutes to bring out a breakfast wrap and a small breakfast. In fairness it seems cooked fresh but still can be slightly irritating.
They do serve edgecumbes coffee which is always a win though - and prices are very good which mitigates the above...
