The Teapot — Restaurant in Ashford

Had the pleasure of being treated here for high tea today, by my daughters. Lovely selection of food, and extremely kind and considerate service. We had specified lactose intolerant on booking, and we were offered lactose free milk, along with several other thoughtful suggestions regarding the food. We brought our dogs and sat outside; they were given a fresh bowl of water and a generous treat of fresh chicken pieces. We were given boxes to take leftovers home too. I went in just after 09:00 and was greeted with were not open yet, but you can come in and sit down. Which was nice given a menu as I made my way to the table. After a few minutes there was about 8 people who came in and all were served and talked to. I didn't make a fuss a wasn't in a rush but when I'd been there for a few minutes after most had been served, I decided to get up and leave as I felt they didn't really care. Perfect place to pop into for a bite to eat. Clean and bright, attentive staff and freshly made sandwiches and cakes, and of course tea in a teapot, with cup and saucer. Call me old fashioned but a teapot, cup and saucer beats a teabag in a mug anytime. Relaxed atmosphere. They have a varied menu, we ordered sandwiches, lovely fresh bread and plenty of filling.
