Verdejo, El Convertido, La Mancha, Spain
El convertido (the convert) is the story of how the world's largest vine growing region, la mancha, is gradually converting to a more sustainable future. The high plateau, with low rainfall and drying winds, make this land ideal for organic viticulture. Clear straw colour in appearance. Very expressive nose of gooseberry, apples and white fruits. Impressively rich, good acidity and fine balance on the palate. (vegan, organic)
Pinot Grigio, La Jara, Veneto, Italy
La jara is an organically-farmed estate, nestled in the gentle slopes surrounding the river piave, named after the local limestone-rich, gravel-based soils lining the riverbed. A versatile wine with strong personality. It has an intense perfume with delicate hints of peach and apricots. The palate is soft, harmonic, fruity and fresh long finish. (vegan, organic)
Picpoul De Pinet, Jean Le Blanc, Languedoc, France
Cathy works tirelessly on her tiny domain with evident passion and love for her land. The philosophy of the campaucels is built upon the idea of living in the rhythm of the vineyard to achieve the best outcome in the most natural manner possible, wine is pale yellow in appearance with bright, youthful aromas of citrus and hawthorn blossom on the nose. Fresh, lively and elegant on the palate with crisp flavours of grapefruit and acacia and bright acidity lingering on the crisp finish. (vegan, organic)
Sauvignon Blanc, Bob Short For Kate, Marlborough, New Zealand
Bob short for kate comes from two organic vineyards in the renwick area - kennedys rd vineyeard in the omeka valley and the brink vineyard which is marlborough's oldest organic vineyard. A lively wine with tropical and citrus fruits with a ripe and juicy palate and a well textured mineral backbone which results in a natural crisp characteristic of the variety that balances lively fruit sweetness. (vegan, organic)
Riesling, Harteberg, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Established in 1692. Hartenberg estate is one of south africa's oldest wineries with one of the most respected winemakers in the western cape at its helm. Immediate aromas of hay, tropical fruits and a hint of lanolin combine with attractive floral notes lemon blossom and honey suckle. Opulent, creamy and melted on the palate with a flinty character. (vegetarian, organic)

Lovely authentic food a year ago .... New update. This is the third time I have had food at this place. Usual spot every time I visited Bath. Almost the same order paneer items. The paneer was spiked and had the pink mold. Saw it in the last bite and couldn't help. Informed to the person there and they confronted it was a good paneer and it is masala that we are seeing. Never seen a pink masala and I can definitely differentiate between a pink mold and masala. They didn't care about it. Neither did anything to help. Fast forward to next day(today) food poisoning to one and stomach ache to the other. The masala tea they offer is the English tea with less/no milk in it. Never have it unless u want water with a thin flavor of tea. Pls don't assume masala tea in an Indian restaurant would be the regular Indian tea. The lassi especially the mango lassi doesn't have sugar in it and u r not given sugar sachet unless asked for. We didn't ask as we got it with the tea flavored water. Looks like the menu changed from the last time we visited and this new menu isn't worth it. Absolutely less rice options and two of them are almost the same and the next two are not so great. Service was still fine except for the paneer issue. For which they said the paneer was fresh while it had the pink mold. I have personally worked with pink mold in my lab. And I know and made paneer at home several times. And I am pretty sure of how a masala would look like. Based on the fact that the paneer was hard and slightly burnt I should have understood it was spoiled. Hard paneer and we foolishly thought it was on the verge of expiry only to réalisé it expired long ago. Never coming again. Seems like there are far more healthy options around Bath.

Indian Temptation, an establishment with an impressive eight-year history, stands out as a beacon of authentic Indian cuisine. The culinary offerings here encapsulate the essence of Indian flavors. Noteworthy among these are the Vegetarian Platter and the Temptation Kofta, revered as culinary gems that one must not overlook during a visit. Upon stepping inside, the ambiance evokes a sense of luxury akin to a high-end hotel. The immaculate surroundings, coupled with the warm reception from the attentive staff, created an inviting atmosphere. Seated by the window with a view of Bath, my experience was enhanced. Smith, the amiable waiter, took my order and provided insights into the dining sequence: commencing with the starter, followed by the main course. The Platter's arrival was a revelation – its impeccable presentation was a prelude to its exquisite taste. The harmony of flavors, adeptly balancing spices, salt, and sauces, was delightful. A delectable Sweet Lassi followed, offering a cool respite from the preceding spiciness. Subsequently, the main course unfurled - both the Nan and the Temptation Kofta were paragons of culinary craftsmanship. The flawless preparation, captivating presentation, and exceptional taste harmonized seamlessly. The Kofta, in particular, stood out – its succulence was a burst of flavors within the confines of my palate. In summation, the experience was flawless. The impeccable service, a courteous and adept staff, a skilled chef dedicated to preserving Indian authenticity, an enchanting ambiance, all nestled at the heart of the city, cement Indian Temptation as a culinary haven.

Once up the stairs, you are greeted by a well appointed restaurant with great views of the Abbey which looked especially good lit up at night. There is a separate vegan menu and you are struck immediately by the reasonable prices. The onion Bhaji to start was superb. Rather than the usual ball, they came in strips which meant they were really crispy and avoided the chickpea flour goo you sometimes get in Bhajis. The accompanying chutney was also delicious. The menu said there was kale in the bhajis and although there were flecks of green, I’m not sure it added a huge amount but that is a minor issue when the dish is so delicious. The bhel puri was a very large portion and although I enjoyed it, it could have done with some peanuts, potato and onion as is usually in the bhel puri I have had in the past. A bit more tamarind sauce would also have lifted the dish. These small issues were forgotten once the outstanding mains were tasted. The masala dosa was perfect; Crisp pancake, soft, well spiced potato interior and tasty chutney and curry sauce. The baby aubergine curry was fantastic, a subtle but rich sauce that complimented the creamy aubergine. The paratha was flakey and perfect for mopping up the outstanding sauce. An excellent meal.

This place is a gem....

The food ... The food is really top class. I'm a vegetarian and it was great to have full choice over the menu, but the thing that really stands out here is the authenticity. So many British Indian restaurants offer the same, made up dishes for the 1970's British palette. Not here. Expect real, vegetarian, Indian cuisine at its best. My dinner guest was a carnivore, loved the meal and didn't miss the meat!

We had: Poppadoms, Paneer and Dosa for starters, vegetable Korma, Makhani Dhal and brown rice for main with a side of Gobi (can't remember what!) All delicately spiced and tasty, really delicious food. The Dosa is amazing! A must. I particularly enjoyed the Makhani Dhal made with black lentils. Deep, warm, spicy flavours, creamy and unctuous. The cauliflower was great too.

Service was really good. Informal and friendly. Soon after being seated, and before ordering, a window table became available and we were offered the option to take it, which we did. Whilst ordering it was politely suggested that we'd ordered too much rice and might want to rethink. I loved this. Not trying to grab every penny...trying to give us a great experience. Top marks.

Price. Everything was reasonably priced and the whole meal including several alcoholic drinks came to less than £50.

Ok, the decor is busy and the toilets could do with a spruce up, yet they were perfectly clean and functional on my visit.

Will be going back to try everything else as soon as I'm...
