I went in, got one pint (hop House 13) after about 10 minutes of that I wanted a 'classic' cocktail which, fair enough wasn't on the menu. It was called a "Caiprinha" the person said they could make it without cashasa which is fair enough i was assured that bacardi would be the replacement so I wanted a nice limey fresh cocktail! I watched the person make this cocktail from start to finish. They prepared the limes and the sugar perfectly! So I was hopeful! Unfortunately when I was served the cocktail there was no Bacardi (or rum or alcohol of any sort in the drink).
As i knew because i watched them making it from start to finish😞. When i asked them what happened I was immediately met with conflict! I asked if there was a possibility that they forgot to add the rum after the slightly askew "classic cocktail"?, the request was met with major hostility this time 😞! (as a cocktail bartender for 7 years) I was quite shocked by the level of denial by the bartender! Unfortunately on this occasion I had been served a drink that was only lime and sugar, which the bartender had put alot of effort into which made me happy!
When I asked if there was rum (there was not) in the drink. They became completely unreasonable, and begun to ask people on the the bar ( if they believed there was alcohol in the cocktail?) Under that much pressure they just of said "yes"!
This is not like any cocktail bartender I have ever known in (7 years in cocktail bars) and 13 years in total of hospitality. After this they started threatening me either I pay or I would be "chucked out" by the security staff. Unfortunately after my reasoning I was left with no choice but to pay the money for a "cocktail" that was only lime and sugar or I would have been forcefully removed 😔! I realise that this 'review' has gone on for a long time but, ever since working in this industry I have never been oppressed so hard with the opinion that I was "so wrong"!
After being polite and asking if "perhaps the bacardi has been forgotten" I've never been met with such hostility and it just makes me sad. I know people who work and have worked in this place and I used to really enjoy it but now I feel like if this is the people who are working for them in the "HOSPITALITY" industry then I am so dissapointed because I've never seen this before. I do really feel sorry for the industry in general because if this small thing cannot be worked out then what can? All the best an unfortunately...
Read moreA week ago I went in with my friend to have a drink at this place and had the worst experience. We walked in and had Starbucks cups we had been carrying around for a while as we were sightseeing all day, with only a little coffee left in them in our hands. We sat down at the bar and the manager came over and told us we couldn't have them, but instead of giving us the option to go outside to finish the coffee, he reached over and took them away from us and then walked away and never came back. We had already ordered drinks so we stayed and just got the most negative treatment, looks, and service from every employee. While we were sitting there my friend tried to ask the female bartender what drink she was making because it looked interesting, instead of being nice the bartender who was clearly determined to hold a grudge against us because we walked in with some leftover coffee, was extremely unfriendly to her, and walked away as she answered so my friend couldn’t even hear what she said. Before we left we asked if we could have our coffee back and the same female bartender said "oh you mean the ones my managers had to take off of you?" It was like she was mad at us and trying to prove a point. We will never come back and honestly the experience ruined our entire day. We feel so disrespected and don't know why everyone treated us so badly just because we had coffee, we didn't know this was such a serious rule and would've easily finished our coffees outside if we knew it would anger the employees so much. A simple "could you please finish those coffees outside" would...
Read moreThe staff all have the personalities of a wet mop. I understand Belfast is a busy city especially on the Christmas months and I mostly understand hospitality because I've did it for 12 years myself. I never complain but the staff at this restaurant are horrible. We had to wait one hour for a table, standard? Because obviously it was a busy Saturday my phone died and I've two bank accounts but I needed my phone charged to transfer the money I handed my phone and charger and asked nicely for them to charge it got it back one house later for it not even to be put on charge that entire time? Like what's your method behind this other than being down right hateful. The waitress who took the order she was tall black haired in a 2010 side pony dressed in all pink cargo I asked her nicely would she mind taking it to be charged please and you'd swear I asked for her to do a huge task. I went to hand her my phone after she was finished taking the order and she blatantly ignored me. My friend asked ANOTHER member of staff to plug it in and he came back 10mins later saying all the "spaces" were taken for phones to be charged and to try in a half an hour, by this point my food was finished and we were being rushed to pay and get out as the table was obviously needed for someone else. Most unhelpful unenthusiastic hospitality staff I've ever...
