Called in during the week. Two people in front of me in the queue and some behind me. I could only see one young girl behind the counter who was busy making food and drinks for waiting customers. Myself and the other customers waited to get served and during that time not once did the girl lift her head to say "I'll be with you soon" I stood not knowing what was going on and wondered will she be serving us anytime soon or at least take our orders. We were being ignored. Eventually after 15 minutes a second girl appeared from the back with two fruit bowls. She passed them to waiting customers and started to take orders from the other customers and me. The girl was not rude but now welcoming. Now I am not blaming these two girls as I began to realize that they are pushed to the limit, and trying to do the best they can, may I add this was 1.30pm during busy lunch time. Who I do blame for this poor service and untrained staff is the owners who are happy to rake in the money and leave two girls to run the show under severe pressure. That place needs an extra few staff to cope with a lunch time rush. Also the owners have not trained the staff to acknowledge waiting customers rather than ignore them. The staff did not look happy but again this is down to the owners who have left two young girls to struggle with a lunch time rush. My sandwich turkey melt was OK and had only two slices of turkey in it nothing like the photo on the menu board, I opted for the sourdough bread which was very wet in the middle as the paper it was wrapped in was wet, maybe another sandwich was prepared on my paper and my sandwich wrapped in that wet paper. I also wanted to try a strawberry matcha but they had no strawberry so I went for mango which I did not like, the drink was made with matcha, mango syrup and water and later I googled matcha drinks and learned they should be made with milk not water so that's probably why I did not enjoy it, it was flavored water. I looked around the Cafe and and it lacked atmosphere. I used the bathroom and it could do with a good scrub especially the floor which had dirt in all corners. Washing my hands there are two sinks on each side but only one hand a hand soap pump. When I pumped the shop bought hand soap it pumped out colored water, so obviously the dispenser was down to the last soap and they had topped it up with water, not good. The owners are responsible for all of these things that I highlight due to poor training and cost cutting on staff numbers to increase their already massive profits as this place is not cheap around £8 for a sandwich. When I finished eating there is a bin at the corner of the counter which was filled to the brim and I had try and squeeze my juice carton and paper into it. So to conclude I was not impressed at all and don't think I would return. So Juice Jar owners and managers DO BETTER. As paying customers we expect better and considering the Ormeau Road is filled with great cafes you need to improve or continue to do what you do and you will always get the same results,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAlways ordering from city centre, but this time I tried Ormeau location and I think it wasn't their day. Food come out fast maybe to fast, cuz our chorizo melts were bearly toasted. Meats cold inside, chesse in some places not melted. Very dry, bearly any sos inside literally few rucola leaves. Looks like someone throw ingredients and missed it cuz they were in all over bag , so messy, and falling apart. Acai bowls wasn't frozen at all not even cold just smoothie (I had it before in very warm day and wasn't melting very fast ) so I think no frozen fruits or just couple has been used. All granola was on top not the bottom, again very messing and everything everywhere. Shame that I didn't check my order in shop cuz I wouldn't pay this much for such poor service. Next time I will just stick with city centre location. Such a shame cuz food is, so lovley and acai bowls are the best. Its just poor service destroying good food spot. That was...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePopped in for an aƧai bowl, which Iāll admit was really good ā fresh, tasty, and well presented. Unfortunately, thatās where the positives ended.
The service was absolutely non-existent. No greeting, no eye contact, no sense that customers even mattered. Seems like staff have a competition of how rude can they be and get away with it.
Theyāre interested in ignoring all customers rather than acknowledging anyone waiting to order. The overall attitude felt dismissive and indifferent, like you were an inconvenience rather than a paying customer.
Itās a real shame, because the product has potential ā but the zero-effort customer service completely ruins the experience. A good aƧai bowl doesnāt make up for feeling unwelcome.
Wonāt be rushing back...
