Madame Pho Lisburn Road — Restaurant in Belfast

Madame Pho is a Vietnamese chain which has now opened up on the Lisburn Road. This location is very open with lots of seating and staff ready serve its customers. I have to say before I continue that it may have been the fastest service I have ever had in a restaurant. The quality of food was fantastic but the speed unmatched. We tried the Vegan Pho which is the staple of this cuisine. The Pho was fragrant and delicious, the veg Tofu and noodles were all cooked perfectly. We also had the Vegan Special Curry which was creamy and delicious. It came me in a lovely portion once again with loads of veg and Tofu. On the side we tried the Salted Chilli Tofu which was as nice as you would expect - super crunchy with a nice kick of heat. To wrap up the meal we had some Vietnamese coffee but with a vegan alternative milk and this really was not expected but so welcome. We were served by Shade who was a star and made sure we were never left waiting for anything. The newly opened third branch of the famous Vietnamese restaurant is comparatively more spacious and has a bright, colourful decor. The ambience is welcoming and there are seating arrangements for all group sizes. The service is quick, and the waiting time between placing an order and the arrival of food is minimal. The interaction with the staff can be a bit wayward at times, but it is nothing significant. However ordering starters and mains at the same time will lead to everything arriving at once, so ordering one course at a time is suggested. The food was nearly perfect. The Prawn Summer Rolls and Chicken Skewers were lovely to start off with, followed by the Irish Brisket Pho which was bang on in flavours and portion size. The Mochi with Coconut Ice Cream and a couple of drinks rounded up dinner nicely.

Have loved the Botanic spot for years, but the Lisburn Rd. location was disappointing. Service a little confused about what was ordered - thought we had sent something back when we hadn't. The prawn summer rolls came too cold and almost frozen at the edges, the noodles and wrapper were not fresh enough- had been prepared too far in advance and sat in a fridge. Most of the food is great, however they need to be careful to maintain the high standard of the original.

Also need to sort out card payments - payment by cash or bank transfer only is not suitable. This seems to be the case in...
