We had attended for a friend's birthday, 10 of us in total and while the service was brilliant and some of the food was very tasty, some of it was either not so good or a very small portion for the price point. Drinks - we had an array of drinks from cocktails, beers and wine. The cocktails were way too sweet and the espresso martinis didn't have a good head which left a bitter taste in your mouth but not in a goid way... See pics. Service - as a former cocktail waiter, when I encounter a bad cocktail I always send it back, which the staff received well, offered a new one which I took but unfortunately was just as bad. The staff were polite, efficient and friendly! Food - we had the chicken Biryani which was divine but the vegetable Jal-Frezi lacked in flavour as did the peshwari naan. The starters were excellent but portion size was very small, more like a tapas portion. Desserts were delicious! Atmosphere - we were seated in a back semi-private room which was dingy at best, no windows for natural light and badly lit but with some better lighting and some fresh paint it could be a beaut of a space! Would I go back - yes but not that room.

The name of the restaurant and food served here are totally contradictory, being a Indian I know what are the so called Street foods are and how is the authentic food in India. The food here had more influence of Bangladesh (no offence) but only concern is with the name and the food served here are not going hand in hand. Even if im a outsider also i feel the food taste was not upto the mark as I could smell the taste of overused or fried all in every possible dishes I ate including the starters(which had a odour of non veg fried oil even in veg dishes so a big NO if you are vegetarian ). Even the price is very high and I can say you could only pay for the ambience and the bar here. More over being Indian named restaurant I was shocked and even scared seeing the "beef" in the menu card. Ended up eating only veg thali that too was very bad in taste.

Make sure this restaurant is on your list for when you visit or live in Belfast! I was very shocked as this was recommended to ourselves and there social media present is nearly none existent… However we booked in for Saturday night and when we first arrived we were greeted with such a warm welcome by a lovely gent. Entered in and the person running the queue was so kind and got us sat down within such a short space of time. Food came to us so fast and the drinks even faster. First bite was absolutely beautiful, the way it looked and served was so professional and from a person who doesn’t eat much of this food it was sensational ! I got the spicy potatoes to start with followed with the Jal Frezi with garlic Nan, chips and rice. Words can’t describe how nice this was, will be back! Keep up the amazing work.

Delight on A Wet Night A dull rainy night in August was made considerably brighter by my first visit to Mumbai Milano at Wellington Place in Belfast. We were greeted immediately on arrival by Liam who maintained the same high level of service throughout the meal. The decor echoed the Indian/ Italian menu and the umbrella lights were a novel touch. The restaurant was reasonably busy for mid week with a mixed clientele including some families. The music was at exactly the right pitch - added atmosphere but not intrusive. The wine list is not over complicated and my dining companion and I choose a Australian Shiraz. At £19 a bottle it was a very good value Shiraz We had decided before we arrived that one of would eat Indian and the other Italian Starters and nibbles start from £4 upwards. It took us a while to decide what to order as there were a lot of tempting choices. Eventually we decided on Onion Bhajis and Goats Cheese Crostini for me. For mains my companion had the Nalli Gosht ( which is lamb shank). Although I enjoy  vegetarian food I am not a vegan but decided to try the  vegan sweet potato and butternut squash ravioli in a cherry tomato sauce. Mains range from £14 upwards and there is a good  pizza menu as  well. While waiting for our starters we enjoyed some poppadums and dips ( the  Mumbai salsa was the favourite. Both starter portions ( as well as the mains)  were good sized but of the two the onion bhajis were the tastier. Presentation of both was good but felt that my crostini tasted more of onion marmalade than goats cheese . However the bread itself was good as was the presentation We were given plenty of time to eat our starters before our main courses arrived. Also another touch which I liked about the venue  was being left to pour our own wine. My companions lamb shank literally fell off the bone and was full of flavour. At £16 this chef’s recommendation from the menu was an excellent choice. The vegan option was very good but the sauce was rather bland for my taste. I took Liam’s recommendation to have some nan bread with this dish and worked a treat for mopping up the sauce. Service was smooth and efficient and staff were keen to ensure that we were enjoying our meal without again being intrusive. We had perused the cocktail menu on arrival and as I normally prefer to drink my dessert ( usually less calories this way but not foolproof!) I ordered an expresso martini from the dessert cocktail menu . My companion took a little longer to make her choice and went for the Goa Beach which included vodka, pineapple juice coconut cream and whipping cream. Came in a very funky coconut style glass  and definitely not a low calorie option! However she pronounced that it was absolutely delicious. Cocktails start from £7.50 and mock tails are £4.50, Indian lassi drinks were also available. Mumbia Milano is a great addition to the Belfast restaurant scene and we will be back to try...

My son took me for dinner on sat 9th March and the food, service, the whole experience was good. So much so I decided to take my friend, who I hadn’t seen for 3 years from Edinburgh, for lunch on Tuesday 19th March. I rang the restaurant that morning to book a table, was told the last booking would be 1.45pm which I said was ok...then was asked if we could make our booking 1.30pm...I agreed. I arrived with my friend just after 1.30 and as soon as we arrived I felt a sense of uncomfortableness. We were seated, given the lunch menu and asked for our drink order. We then ordered our food, our starter came which we were sharing, we were halfway through our starter when the waiter came to us and said our main was ready...to our surprise that he was coming to say that bearing in mind we were still eating our starter. My friend asked if we were being rushed by the restaurant to which the waiter replied no. She said we were not finished our starter and advised the waiter we were finishing our starter. Which we did. The mains were brought out and a few minutes later, I ordered another glass of wine, only to see the waiter rolling his eyes! When we finished our main, our plates were taken away. We were not offered a dessert menu neither any tea or coffee or anything else. We were not asked either if everything was ok. We then asked where the toilets were and we both visited the ladies. We came back to finish our drinks, and then the background music was switched off!! I could see the waiter was standing at the bar watching us, this made me feel very uncomfortable, tbh the whole time I was there I felt uncomfortable, rushed, and a nuisance!!

The lack ur non existent customer service has totally made me never wanting to re visit and I was so embarrassed to have told my friend how lovely a restaurant it was only to be treated like a nuisance! We got the bill and paid and left! I work myself in hospitality and if any member of staff in our restaurant behaved like this, it could be a sackable offence! If Mumbai 27 have closing lunchtime hours then last table reservations should be in accordance with that so that the customer is not rushed and not to be made feel Like they are a nuisance! I am really upset and angry abt this visit and I hope to hear what you have to say about this awful...

I do not even know how to begin writing this review. I have one word for how I felt disgusted the way staff behaved and served. I was on a trip to Belfast with my friends when we decided to go to Mumbai 27 for dinner. It is a long story so I will just mention the highlights of our experience.

  1. We were asked to move to another table based on our appearance after they sat us on a center table.

  2. The staff insisted that it is not 'that kind of restaurant' so we should give them our bags and jackets. Mind you we were tourists and had asked them if they would accept us.

  3. We wanted to add some naan bread to our main order and were told that we can not order like this as the chef does not like it.

  4. The food finally arrived and was awful. We had 2 Indians in our group so they were not happy at all and wanted to complain. This prompted the staff to declare anyone manager who they deemed worthy. So we ended up complaining to 5 managers.

  5. As we were leaving the restaurant one of the staff said that we should not come back and when he wasn't satisfied he came out of the restaurant and shouted at us and physically threatened one of our friends who insisted that he should apologize for his behavior. WE actually had to call police to make sure we were not harmed.

Please...
