I went to Bocadios for lunch and ordered the chicken in Bocadios, which is basically a baguette. I got it as a meal, so it came with fries and a drink.
When I first walked in, there was a bit of a mix-up – the guy at the counter tried charging me £25 for something I hadn’t even ordered yet! I had literally just stepped into the shop, which I found quite funny. Once that was cleared up, I placed my order, and the food took about 10 minutes to come out which was decent.
That said, I feel like communication between the front-of-house and the kitchen could be better. I ordered a meal, but the baguette came out on its own at first. Only when I reminded them did they go and get the fries and drink. Then I had to ask for sauce too – can’t really eat fries without sauce! The norm should be when you order a meal the sauces, tissues should come as standard especially when your eating in.
The service was polite and respectful from the woman, the men seemed abit weird throughout, but it did feel a bit disorganised. I get the sense they’re newly opened, so maybe they’re still finding their feet. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.
The food itself? Genuinely very good. The chicken baguette was decently fresh, the fries were crispy and well seasoned and everything was cooked well however temperature wise the food wasn’t hot it was just warm. Price point it was pretty average for this day and age coming to around £6.50
The shop is quite small – more suited to takeaway than dine-in. There are a couple of tables and a window ledge where you can sit and look out onto Soho Road, but if the shop gets even slightly busy, it feels a bit cramped and you can’t really enjoy your food in peace.
All in all, the food was decent, the service needs a bit...
Read moreThe owner of the shop was really rude. Would not recommend this shop to anybody honestly they are really disrespectful literally came into the shop and sat down in there with my children it was 26 degrees outside needed to sit down because I just had walked up a hill with a pram with my slush that I had brought from another shop in less than 10 seconds the guy that works there with the light coloured eyes ended up saying that if i'm not buying anything then he wants me to leave also said why do I think I can buy from another shop and think it's okay to sit in? I swear at that moment I thought at this point you might as well put a poster up saying customers can't sit inside your shop unless they are buying from the shop. It was just so disrespectful I felt disheartened . Imagine if I wanted to order something but I choose to sit down first and have 5 minutes to myself. This guy's behaviour was literally disgusting towards me. I bought a milkshake from this shop before and when I tell you it's not worth the money. £4.50 for a small milkshake that literally has no taste to it better off making a milkshake at home than come here. Honestly ridiculous prices. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!...
Read moreScammed by the large bald man Bought a panini £2.50 (always been that price) and a pasty £1.70, total £4.20 However, was charged on the card for the amount of £6.00. Couldn’t not understand how. Went in the next day with receipt. The bald man said the panini price has increased to £4.00! And the pasty still £1.70 so total is £5.70 NOT £6.00. However had not explicitly stated the price had increased otherwise I would not pay £4.00 for that small panini not worth it. When asked how he managed to charge £6.00. He lied on the spot and said 30p eating in charge. Which is ridiculous as I did not state I would eat in. I never sit in at the cafe, I always get takeaway as I live nearby. Whilst I was leaving I heard the man say to his colleagues ‘ Bengalis man’. So there is underlying racism towards the Asian Bengali community. Be careful when you buy from here. Always check prices as they seem to...
