Paprika Grill — Restaurant in Birmingham

I was told about this small restaurant in Selly Oak by my friend who visited this week. I did a pick up order. Ordered online through the website. Went to pick up the food 20 minutes later (amazingly fast). As I went in to collect the food the first thing that I saw was the beautiful interior, the place looked 10/10. After looking around I loved that there was an open kitchen that you could look and watch the chefs making your food (the kitchen looked so clean and fresh, it made me even more excited for my food). After being greeted by the friendly waiter, he grabbed my order, then proceeded to hold open the door for me to leave. For a pickup order I felt like the 5 minutes of just picking up the food was perfect service.

Once I got home I felt that the food package was still very hot. I opened the food to the best aroma's ever. I had ordered the Koobideh Skewer, with fresh mixed salad and rice. It was amazing the rice was soft and fluffy, the lamb skewer juicy and full of flavour. I was given two amazing sauces alongside the meal. A yellow one which was buttery with hints of coriander and an amazing tomato one. (I would love to find out what these dips are called for next time! ). And the garlic naan was unreal, full of garlic very soft and really complimented the dish.

All in all, this order was the best pick up order I've had in a long time. This place is a hidden gem in Selly Oak 10/10. I can't wait to dine...

First visited this restaurant last summer with a friend and was amazed by the saffron rice so told my husband I would go with him cause he had to try this amazing rice We were looking for somewhere to break our fast (iftar) and we decided to go here We were 20 mins late to our booking due to the traffic in the city centre so I called and the person that answered just put the phone down, if it wasn’t Iftar time we would’ve gone elsewhere but due to how busy it would be everywhere else we decided to still go there I called back and said we were 7 mins away and the time to break fast was 2 mins ago can I place my order via the phone so we can have it as soon as we get there but the person that took my call said no and put the phone down.. rude

We got there ordered our food and waited around half an hour.. do not get the mixed platter for 2 it’s a scam and so over priced for what you get.. but this is what the waiter pushed us to get You’re better off getting two individual meals and the portions are a lot better and better value for money, the saffron rice was disappointing and was the only reason I wanted to go back.. was really bland We noticed we were treated a lot different to the other customers as we were the only brown/muslim couple there and other tables were offered complimentary olives and sides etc.. where was ours? We got given little chunks of dried cookies to break our fast I won’t be visiting again...

Awful. Waiter was so rude, we were a group of 9 and there for a bday meal. Meal was ruined by rude waiter who when serving food would asked my friends ‘is your conversation important? No - so listen what did you get’. Unbelievably rude waiter. We paid individually, and the waiter kept saying there was still 10 pounds outstanding. He did’nt bother to tick off what everyone had just paid for. One of my friends was trying to find out where the discrepancy in payment occured, so counted our receipts and she spoke to this rude waiter who did’nt believe he could have made a mistake (which he did - he didn’t print one person receipt) and implying we were just not paying 10 pounds, and then said to my friend he wanted the whole group to leave. He had the audacity to accuse us of stealing, when in fact he overcharged us in the end. I was so upset by this experience, I was a regular customer who had gone to paprika numerous times with my family and never experienced something so horrid. Paprika can’t handle a group at all, such a small restaurant and you could tell they had no idea how to handle or respect customers. Worst customer service I’ve ever experience wouldn’t ever go again, overcharged me, rude waiters and the manager did nothing - DO NOT GO! Small restaurant which no on really knows about...
