We had booked at another local venue for a work night out but decided to leave there due to the lack of atmosphere. I headed across to popworld and spoke to the Manager Wayne to see if we would be welcome as a group of 20. Not only were we welcome, Wayne even cordoned off an area for us to use. We got there at 11pm and there was already a great atmosphere. The place was pumping and there were plenty of people dancing already. The bar staff were plentiful and very happy. They served drinks quickly and the drink prices were very reasonable. They helped with all of my requests for ice buckets and shots. One of the girls in the group had sore feet and i was even able to buy her a pair of flip flops! There was a lady doing face glitter at a very reasonable price and a photographer doing the rounds. Everyone in our group had an amazing time and no one felt the need to move elsewhere as we were all having such a great time. There was zero bad attitude from either the staff or the visitors which is rare on a night out these days. Everyone seemed to just be out to have a great time! I can throughly recommend Popworld Birmingham and will be using them for team nights out again...

Went to the bar to order some drinks with my partner and I saw an interesting drink Tropical Rum Bull being advertised on the screens right behind the bartenders. Hence I thought I would try it. Despite me repeating myself several times, the bartender just did not know what I was referring to and just gave us tropical Red Bull. My partner unfortunately paid for the wrong drinks and I waited till the advert popped up on the screen again. Once it did, I pointed it out to the bartender what I was actually referring to and she had an attitude about it and told me not to talk to her like that as I was unjustly raising my voice in a loud club. Overall, didn’t get my drinks, was in pop world for a max of 10mins before I left. Very unpleasant experience for myself. I’ve been in the service industry before and I know we have to be fully aware of the services we provide. Tip to management, please ensure your staff are aware of any promos/special drinks etc cause this really did put a bad taste...
Read moreNever experienced this before...... Jacket delivered to the cloakroom after payment. After an hour I wanted to pick it up again and the jacket including valuables had disappeared from the cloakroom, despite security.
Managers were called in and despite my presence, the jacket tag and the bank transaction statement for the payment of the wardrobe and drinks, they claimed not to believe my presence because I was supposedly not visible on the cameras... .The managers would send me an email to get back to me about this.
After my suspicious reaction that I did not want to be turned away in this way, the male manager became very angry. After asking for compensation he became even angrier, I was called a racist and thrown out.
Meanwhile, still no email....
