Coffee#1 Fishponds — Restaurant in Bristol

Ordered an Americano with hot milk. When I tasted it I took it back as it tasted like it had sugar in it. I was told by the server it was the blend but she offered to prepare another. As I believed her I thought a replacement was pointless. As I got down to the last inch of coffee it got sweeter. I touched the inside of the cup and my fingers came away sticky. There had obviously been sugar in the cup. The server said no sugar had been added at the counter, therefore I can only guess the sugar was already in the cup. I questioned if it had been washed properly, and was told it was a clean cup....

Although the coffee is always good, some of the new staff need some training in customer service. While waiting for my coffee to be made the two ladies serving preferred to chat to each other and one was even drinking her own coffee, instead of engaging with both myself and another customer that was waiting. Love Coffee#1, not a chain I'd come across before as I think it's a more southern thing but definitely better than the other high street coffee chain cafés in my opinion. Coffee is better, menu choices are great and the cakes are amazing. Like actual proper fresh patisserie cakes. Dog friendly too which I love, so many aren't, but if your out for a walk and fancy meeting someone you don't need to sit and freeze outside. Always cool, funky decor and friendly staff.
