Mamma P's — Restaurant in Bristol

Had delivery from here so this review is based on that experience only.

I've been on a personal mission to try all the jerk chicken here in Bristol, and this was an old spot for me during university a few years back when I was living in fishponds - a revisit was a must as I only went there once.

Two portions of large jerk chicken (with rice and peas) and jerk sauce each.

Up there with the best in Bristol, I could not recommend it enough.

The aroma hits you as soon as you open the box - smokey mouth watering chicken. The portion sizes were amazing, one tub for rice n peas and one for the chicken (on the large at least). Which was enough for a full belly, but I could've easily eaten more simply because the taste was next level. You can tell much love goes into the chicken, if you've ever walked past you would have seen the level of attention they give to chicken outside cooking.

The jerk sauce was a great addition I'd recommend to pour over the chicken and rice, not that chicken needs it but it does add more flavour to the rice n peas.

10/10.

As a lover of Caribbean cuisine, I was on the hunt for an authentic place to satisfy my cravings. A friend recommended Mamma P's, and I'm so glad they did! My experience here was nothing short of amazing.

The jerk chicken was an absolute delight. It was tender and juicy, bursting with rich, smoky flavors that danced on my taste buds. The accompanying rice and peas were equally brilliant, perfectly complementing the jerk chicken with their subtle, savory notes.

But that wasn’t all – the fried chicken thighs were a revelation. They were exceptionally tasty and delicious, with a crispy skin that was simply irresistible. Each bite was a perfect blend of crunch and tenderness, making it a joy to eat.

I also tried the chicken patty, and it did not disappoint. It was packed with flavor, with a flaky crust encasing a savory filling that was perfectly seasoned. Every bite was a testament to the care and skill that goes into Mamma P's cooking.

I would one hundred percent recommend Mamma P's to anyone seeking a delicious and authentic Caribbean meal. The flavors are spot-on, and the dishes are prepared with obvious love and expertise. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Five stars...

As it was my first time eating here I decided to go for the jerk chicken as I had heard it was really good. I ordered a small as I’m not a big eater and the portion size was very generous. There was enough for 2 plates. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas and coleslaw. I believe it was a meal deal which was definitely value for money (see what I said about the portion size). Anyway the rice and peas was very nice, the chicken was outstanding. I could literally taste all the different flavours. It wasn’t too spicy/hot, the consistency was impregnable.
