Extremely disappointing visit to Stokes Croft Pieminister tonight. Having spent the day singing your praises to my other half and looking forward to your usual high standards I was left feeling like a second rate customer and having to look for somewhere else to eat. There were 2 other tables in tonight when we arrived and we had a table booked for 7pm. From ordering to receiving our drinks it was over a 10 minute wait. And then from ordering to receiving food was over 30 minutes and during this time countless delivery drivers arrived for orders that were received after we had arrived. We watched these orders be inputted into the computer, at least 4 whilst waiting for our drinks alone. When our food did finally arrive parts of our order were missing from both plates and the food was stone cold. Having waited for over half an hour, the least I would expect is that my food was of an acceptable temperature and was edible. On raising this with our waiter and saying we didn’t want to wait any longer for it to be fixed we would just pay for our drinks and leave, we were offered absolutely no apology, the plates were taken away and the drinks bill brought to us immediately. Working in the hospitality sector myself, the least I would offer a customer of mine is for them to not have to pay for their drinks after such disgraceful service. There really is no excuse for the appalling service and quality of food tonight. There were less than 10 people in your restaurant so your staff weren’t exactly rushed off their feet and clearly take away service takes priority over your sit in customers. £12.75 for an inedible meal...

last night me and my partner decided to try this, we are both vegan.

we ordered 1X Mock-A-Doodle 1X Mooless Moo 1X Kale and Parsnip Fritters 1X Vegan Mash 1X Crispy Onions 1X Skin On Chips

lets start with the fact the crispy onions container was filled up about 30%, is it really that hard to fill it up when i paid £1.50 for onions?

the Kale and Parsnip Fritters were flavourless, the dip that they came with also shockinly was only filled about 25% up the container, seemed like the staff either been instructed to do this, or simply dont care about the customers

the vegan mash was the worst mash ive ever had in my life, so plain, so flavourless, tasted like it was sitting for 3 days

each of the pies were noticably overcooked and extremely hard and crunchy, so far from fresh, i feel like had i got frozen ones and cooked myself the result would have been much better.

the vegan gravy was lackluster and nothing close to the vegan gravy we make at home

overall id give 1/5 but im leaving this review in hopes that it helps improves things

the only thing acceptable...

The pie was nice, but none of the promised sides arrived. This happened to everyone in the group who ordered the festive feast. When we queried it we were told thats what was on the order. There was a large group of us so didn't want to make a fuss. I paid my bill but it is only since getting home I have realised I was charged £11.90 for a pie a bit of gravy and a diet coke, no veg, no mash, nothing! I assume the extra 1.70 was a service charge? Really disappointed and I won't be back, the pie is not that good and the service certainly wasn't worth it either!

Addition in response to the reply: My biggest gripe is that we did point it out to our server but he wasn't interested and just told us that what the order has stated. He made no offer to rectify anything, mistakes happen, I judge on the way the mistake is dealt with or not. Also I posted the review the next day, so it is a bit of a shame that it took 2 months for someone...

Staying locally with work, I searched online for locally eateries and stumbled across Pieminister. Tried it on a whim having read a few positive reviews I was certainly not disappointed! Greeted like a long lost friend, I was shown to my table and explained the options, it was a Sunday evening and also told about the local beers and ales. Opting for a Sunday best "blue and moo" pie and a pint of "pie p a", a winning combination. The pie was loaded with filling and super tasty. Being a "Sunday best" the pie was sat on mash, with a yorkie pud, roast tatties, sweet potoato and a pig in blanket adorned the top. Fabulous food, great service and a cracking pint to boot. Defo recommend, will return!

This Pieminister restaurant was much less busy than other ones of the same chain in Bristol on Saturday lunch time. Concept of a burger joint adapted to the UK market with main dish - pies. Great variety and “adaptability” of the dishes, many options to choose from, however for the first time visitors the menu could be slightly overwhelming. I particularly enjoyed the fact how many vegetarian and vegan options were provided, also vegan gravy was delicious. Many options I would describe as a “classic dish with modern take” Overall, is a good place for lunch, service is super quick, friendly staff.

Overall nice experience. The decor is more of a modern casual place with good tunes going on in the background, and the staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Overall I was slightly underwhelmed by the flavor of the dish. It felt slightly under-seasoned and was just missing the "WOW" factor in the taste department. The gravy is also very thin and lacking in flavor profile/meatiness. Don't get me wrong the food was presented beautifully. But I wish the taste would have matched the level of impression that the looks brought.
