Absolutely gorgeous food and a fantastic experience here! I came to try Spice & Sizzle after noticing they had opened recently. I love Indian food and I liked that they specialise in Muguli Indian food which belongs to a specific region. Starters were a mix of Grilled Chicken Wings, Shami Kebab, Nergisi Kofta, Chicken 65 and Apollo Fish with some fries. I loved the mixed starter platter as it meant we could try a mix of what they had - Apollo fish was perfectly succulent - almost melt in the mouth and the Shami kebabs had a really lovely texture and flavour. Both chicken starters were also tender and juicy, this platter was large enough to easily feed 3-4 people too. Mains consisted of Lamb Biryani, Dam Ka Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh with Buttered Naan & Raita. The meat was cooked to perfection in all 3 dishes - lamb fell apart but was still moist and well seasoned, chicken was also cooked to perfection. The biryani was Indian style and the perfect accompaniment to the spicy and flavourful curry dishes, flavour heaven! Naan was soft, fresh and lightly charred on the bottom too which is hard to get so perfect. They also serve a range of mocktails, we tried the Lychee Fizz & Zesty lime which were light and refreshing. They make the drinks at the front of the bar, it's a really cool and unique twist. Because they're also halal at Spice and Sizzle it's a great option for Muslims etc to experience drinks with dining. Desserts were warm Gulab Jamun with ice-cream which just ended off the meal perfectly. I loved the warm Gulab Jamun with the cold almond ice-cream and this is a classic Indian dessert which they've done very well. Overall 100% recommend and I had a great experience here - they will be expanding into the neighbouring space eventually and they currently have 25% off so I really do recommend visiting! 10/10

Don’t let the outside concern you as once you walk into the candescent interior restaurant you start to feel welcomed and special. The staff were amazing and attentive to your needs and nothing was too much for them. The food (oh my gosh) was flavoursome and hit the right spot for experience and taste. Have to admit there were flavours there that I had not experienced before and truly enjoyed all the dishes from starters to dessert. Mocktails top notch too. If it is not obvious it is halal food 🥰. I will be coming again and so nice to see these restaurants moving to this side of bristol (bs3).

Brand spanking new Indian restaurant launched on the border of North and East St in Southville! Beautifully decorated inside, with lots of attention to detail paid to the design. I'm a fiend for an Indian and was intrigued by the Nargisi Kofta (Indian lamb Scotch egg)- well worth a try. The chilli garlic naan had both more chilli and more garlic than any I've ever tried before. The samosa was crispy, flaky and well-filled, and the masala chai was the best I've had this side of Dishoom. I'll be back to try the rest for sure!

First time trying this new restaurant and I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and freshness of the food served. The member of staff who served us was lovely. Very helpful attentive. I ordered vegetable pakora as a starter and it was crisp and light. Perfect in my opinion. I had fish curry which was delicious, moist and tender and fragrantly spiced. I chose the vegetable biriani to accompany it and this was quite a generous portion. Also delicious. I had a mocktail to drink, I think it was called the Lime Zinger or Zingy Lime, anyway, it was perfect, not too citrusy and a mild underlying minty flavour. Makes a great palate cleanser. They decor was pleasant, we had a lovely experience, would highly recommend. A fantastic addition to this part...

We came from Exeter just by looking reviews finding for authentic South Indian food, coming to review, we ordered:

Chicken 65: Really tender and tasty Apollo Fish: Tastes good but there’s some raw taste in it, improvement can be made. Masala Prawns: Really good Chicken Biriyani: Although taste was good but it was cold when it served, might be because they were waiting for all Biriyani’s to be served once. However it’d be really good if served hot I believe.

The disappointing factor behind my reduction in review is the waiting time, we had to spend 2 hours even when there’s no one else in...
