Turmeric Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Bristol

I was a regular local customer and enjoyed the food until the beginning of March 2022.

The problem lies solely on the waiter at the restaurant.

One day I came in at 5pm as the first customer in the restaurant and I expressed a preference for a particular seat. The rude waiter told (not asked) me to sit in a specific seat he chose for ‘his’ convenience. I told him politely that I didn’t want to sit there because it was by the door and didn’t want to catch a cold from the draught.

He then told me to “leave”. Shocked I asked why. He said because there was a booking at 7pm. Given that I arrived just after 5pm I obviously didn’t intend to stay for 2 hours! He didn’t listen and ignored me and went back his seat and played on his phone.

Angry and frustrated I tried to contact the manager of the restaurant but without luck since it was always him that picked up the phone. He was effectively preventing me from contacting the manager.

This particular waiter has been very rude in the past (eg not acknowledging requests and never expressing gratitude after we had paid) but I wanted to turn a blind eye because I was with my wife.

To the manager, if you read this. Please replace him. For one, I won’t be coming back and I’m sure other customers won’t appreciate his dire attitude and rudeness which will definitely drive business away without...

Had a good meal last night, unfortunately my wife forgot some Christmas and Birthday cards and left them on the table. They started clearing as we left so none of the customers (only 2 other tables a distance away) would have accessed the table. My wife returned there this evening and the Birthday card was opened, the £40 inside had gone missing. The staff denied any knowledge and were very unhelpful. I then joined her to make sure she (and myself) remained calm, only to be told to leave as we were trespassing. When we refused until the matter was sorted they called the Police and informed us we would be arrested for trespassing. Absolutely shocking. They refused to accept that the member of staff would have taken the money (although they couldn't get hold of him) and were extremely rude and condescending to my wife (calling her 'love') which I had to stand and watch, having to remain calm so as not to give them any ammunition for the Police. Absolutely disgusted - the member of staff was immediately at the table so no-one else could have taken the money. Plenty of Indian Restaurants about who would have called and said you'd left stuff on the table. Don't leave...

We went to this Indian and first impressions were bad but we thought we would not judge by cover. There was a table of about 15 people who were banging on their table and whistling but the staff saw other customers in the room were bothered by this but didn't do anything or ask if they could please not do those things, instead they mostly just stood there looking at other customers reactions and looked worried. I had to literally wave to the waiter to order our food.

When our starters came which were just poppadoms so they couldn't really go wrong there but about 3 mins after getting them our main appeared and they were moving the poppadoms to the next table! They also got our order wrong which they had to sort out and when I said to the waiter it was quite loud in here he said pardon? Which I said "exactly"

The main what I had was very bland and had a greasy taste to it and I did not find ish it and the lamb looked like it came out of a dog food can.

If you have enjoyed it here before you have been lucky or don't know good Indian food! Best place to go near there if it fails for you is Curry Supreme on staple hill.
