Decided to take a punt at this place whilst working as a temp security guards for one of the companies I work for.
Beautiful atmosphere inside and I love the seating outside. When I spoke to one of the staff they were lovely (what is rare in Coffee shops now). I always like cold coffee so went for the almond frappe (what is just the right amount of cold mixed with the right amount of coffee) I haven't tried the chocolate cake yet but from the look of it I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it.
For someone who isn't the biggest fan of Clifton (mainly due to the absurd prices of most cafés, restaurants ect) I would say this is one of the better independent coffee shops out there.
The only negative I have is the price (nearly £7 for a coffee and cake) but seeing as Costa and other bigger coffee shop chains are around that price (sometimes even steeper) I can understand the pricing. I would for sure order from here again when I'm needing a boost of coffee when I've forgotten to bring a coffee...
Read moreThis is a café that we had wanted to visit during our last two trips to Bristol. I had read reviews about their maritozzi buns, which typically sold out quickly. Finally, on 9 June 2025, we managed to drop by for coffees and the pastries that have become synonymous with this Italian-Turkish café.
The owner, who is of Turkish descent, chatted with us during our visit. The pastries showcased strong Turkish influences. We tried the borek—a pastry filled with spinach and white cheese—which was so delicious that we ordered a larger one to share. The coffee was superb, made with beans from northern Italy according to the owner. This is certainly a café I'll visit again when I'm next in Bristol as I missed the maritozzi buns, yet again. They are only sold on Wednesdays and Thursdays and sold out...
Read moreReally lovely cafe! I particularly love their overall cosy vibe and the layout of the space, as well as the location. It’s the perfect spot to watch folks passing by outside their big window while still being off the main roads.
Their coffee tends to favour a darker, more traditional Italian profile which I personally enjoy. They have a lovely selection of sandwiches and breakfast-y items which I also appreciate in a small cafe like this.
WiFi and laptop friendly which is also really nice. Great spot for studying, working, meeting a friend for a chat or simply watching the busy students rushing by to their next class...
