XLII Cafe — Restaurant in Bury

After booking our baby shower (small group of sensible ladies) , I must say we have never been treated so badly !! Staff hovering round moving our bags , possessions, gifts and being made to feel very uncomfortable just because of our presence ! One of the older staff came and removed a bottle of prosecco without asking or explaining , from our table and told us very aggressively that we could not open it as it hadn't been bought in the premises ( a little prize that had been won by one of us in-little quiz about the mother to be ! ) Hardly threatening their takings !! I have never been made to feel so unwelcome ! And spoken to so rudely .congratulations to XLll for spoiling my daughters baby shower ..we will never...

Awful - ordered multiple rounds of drinks while we were here but didn't realise we had a time limit to drink them. Asked to leave for drinking our drinks to slow. Also don't bother wearing a mask to order at the bar or visit the toilet - unless you want it to be grabbed from the front and pinged back into your face by the locals this bar attracts. My partner is an ICU doctor and trust me he really didn't...

Drinks were nice, service was poor and staff were slightly patronising. Laughed at us when ordering drinks, spilled candle wax on my friend and offered no apologies; just looked at her! Despite having a drink in there already, bouncer made us feel very uncomfortable - likely because we looked young? 22 years old in fact. Weird vibes overall. Small space, very popular amongst locals.
