Rude and unapproachable staff. Wrong food arrived. Oily and unpleasant food. Won't be returning. Travelled from Wigan with family due to recommendation. Very disappointed.
Edited in response to reply. We were offered a la carte and Sunday lunch. If you don't want people ordering off a la carte do not offer it. You accepted orders from both menus. We said we would pay for extras off the Sunday lunch menu. You agreed. Extras were poppadoms, rice and chips. You rectified the wrong starters. We said thanks. But did not eat 3/4 of it. This is strongly denied. One starter wasn't very nice. You offered an alternative which was accepted. Staff were rude and dismissive. Staff would not address the female in the group. The youngest member of staff and the guy in grey were the nicest and most accommodating. We didn't complain about the mains. We just didn't eat them. Food was rushed and etiquette missing. We paid the bill with no hesitation or questions. We did not cause you embarrassment in front of customers. Customers are entitled to review an establishment just like the establishment has a right to reply. We did not want a free meal. We could more than afford the food hence ordering off both menus. We attended for a celebration. The cake was given to Staff but with our visit cut short we took the cake home. Disappointed celebration. In my opinion which I am entitled to, this was not a fine dining experience. We witnessed other tables returning food. You even handed food to someone with an allergen which you were informed about. We also witnessed an over charge via the card machine. The member of staff didn't know how to refund, after 20 minutes the couple got fed up of...
Read moreMade a visit on colleague recommendation. Unusual booking requirement - had to pay a £30 deposit? Never heard of that before? For a curry house? Nice decor, a bit crammed. If the waiter can’t reach the table to put the plates down - then it’s too crammed. Especially when they have to pass hot plates down from guest to guest. Not safe! Starters were tasty but small. 45mins later the first of the mains came. The rest of party waited patiently for another 5 or so minutes for food. Which was not hot. Barely above room temperature. Plates hot - food not! Told the waiter who quickly took just two of the cold dishes away (left the rest) and said they’d make another one. Came back 3 mins later, still no warmer. Shame - although portions small and cold, was quite tasty. When paying the bill: Staff: Meal ok? Me: Not really the food was cold. Staff: Can’t be cold, the food comes straight out of the tandoor! Me: No, it was cold. Staff: Can’t be, the tandoor is hot. We had curry, from a pan, not a tandoor. Do not argue with your customer and then charge them £130 for food that has obviously been sat going cold in the kitchen for 10 minutes. Shocking! Overpriced. Crammed. Rude...
Read moreThe decor was pleasant, although a little overdone, and the seating had rather a cramped feel.
We were a party of 6. My mixed grill starter, whilst tasty enough, would have struggled to feed a squirrel.
We waited around 40 minutes for the main courses, which arrived in a haphazard fashion. Several of the dishes were barely warm on arrival. After sending them back, they reappeared in under 3 minutes, exactly the same temperature. We gave up at that point and just ate them.
Some of the waiters were surly. When paying for the meal, the issue of the cold food was raised, and we were essentially accused of lying. The guy taking the money offered no apology, or discount, and just wanted to argue.
It seemed like some of the dishes had potential to be of good quality, but the service, timing and attitude was just not there.
Would not recommend, would...
