Eastern Eye (Indian cuisine ) — Restaurant in Bury

You know how, sometimes, you have an expectation of a place, and sometimes, the actual event somehow falls short.... Well, not this time. I finally got down to the Eastern Eye again, and once again, they delivered. After 15 years of the Antipodean alternative, my Madras and Kingfisher knocked my socks off. A superbly balanced and perfectly cooked curry with mushroom pilau, naans, and chapatis, complete with attentive and efficient service from intelligent and pleasant waiters in a fantastic surround - what's not to like! Highly, highly recommended, even without the memories. Thank you Eastern Eye. I will surely be back again next...

Went here on Saturday evening not busy. The poppadoms were nice and the chutney tray plentiful. The seekh kebab starter was stone cold.Sent it back and they obviously just reheated it. It wasn't made correctly as as soon as you put your knife in to cut it it fell into little pieces. The chicken vindaloo I had was very flavoursome but sadly lacking in chicken. There was only SEVEN pieces of small chicken in it! My wife's chicken balti was the same with it being flavoursome but lacking in chicken. Service was fine with polite staff and the prices are very reasonable. Would I go back? Maybe but hopefully the chicken portions will...

Came here for a group meal. Food was nice.

Staff decided to overcharge by over £23 as the staff member miscalculated but kept blaming our group saying there was money owed once everyone has paid.

The manager came over and started throwing plates and cutlery on the table next to us in anger as he was clearing up and that we had questioned the overcharge as he was clearing up. Other staff were angry too.

Then we found a £15 service charge on the bottom of the receipt without being notified. We will never eat here again....
