It's a lovely little coffee shop and far nicer than any chain. Unfortunately the person serving was new and got pretty much every order wrong.
Nothing really veggie/vegan on the menu except breakfast menu, so I had to order eggs on toast with extra mushrooms and avocado. Hold the eggs! When I could have just had toast option from the breakfast menu but was advised they weren't serving that any more. So cost me quite a lot for the privelage. Sourdough was also dry, no butter which was good, but not even any oil or marg and no options asked either. Mushrooms turned out to be 'a mushroom'. Cooked, well seasoned portabello, but not a huge one. Again fine, but for a couple of quid, that kinda hurt.
Generally, coffee was lovely but my visit was definitely marred by the poor service of the unfortunate newbie which then made me resentful of paying £23 for couple of drinks and couple of light bread based snacks. Hopefully the front of house training goes better and I will totally return to try again.
Not all bad by any means, just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been twice now. The first time a man I assume was the owner was there and the service was ace. The second time I took a visiting friend and was really embarrassed. The barista seemed either shy and out of his depth or a bit of a snooty chump. The coffee menu is complicated in that it's blends most people aren't familiar with and coffee making methods that are equally rare. The second barista appeared arrogant and unhelpful and wouldn't talk my friend through it. Apologies if he's just shy, but I felt totally embarrassed taking a guest there. The coffee itself is interesting, but I prefer heavier chocolatey blends (I'm probably just uncultured) and there's nothing like that on the menu. I think it's the most hipsterish place in Rammy - complete with bearded guy in red plaid shirt on apple Mac in the corner. But I wouldn't hold...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice Cafe, Dog Friendly, Welcoming Staff, only had a coffee so no idea as to the food. Excellent Strong Coffee, we had Cappuccino priced at Ā£3.20. My only criticism is the Cost of a Coffee in Relation to the size you get, ie you get a Cup which was Disappointing when really youāre paying the price of a large beaker as per the large coffee shops. Can never really understand why coffee given the price isnāt always served in large cups/beakers. A good idea would be a picture of the cup/beaker used alongside the...
