We both opted for 'The One' signature steak burgers, with skin-on chips. I chose the JD sticky bourbon sauce and my partner the garlic mayo.
Waitress service was attentive, but it wasn't busy when we arrived. She informed us that the signature burgers are a little pink inside and gave us the option of having them cooked longer. We both stuck with the pink, but if I went again I would have it cooked longer as it was very tasty but also very wet. The single use tiny napkins couldn't catch the juices running down my hands!
No cutlery was offered and the burgers arrived on wooden boards, which looked perfectly clean, but obviously well used, quite rough and not regularly oiled.
We debated how hygienic they could have been long-term and decided it was probably best not to think about it!
Chips were very skinny, fries not chips. Garlic mayo was very garlicky but the JD sticky bourbon sauce was neither sticky or saucy, but tasted watered down and extremely runny. I had to literally immerse my chips in it to get it to stick.
Overall gave it 4 stars for the service and food was ok, plus liked the option of ordering a 1/2 bottle of wine (even though the waitress couldn't say and obviously didn't know what a carafe was).
Would return, but order something...

Worst's Burger ever
Sep 2023 Couples
Strolling along the foot path on our way to a well know quick burger place, seeing the sign out side with this delicious looking photo showing double burger dripping with cheese and a well stacked burger, only to be presented with two burgers that you could not even see the burger inside, dreadfully presented, with the absolutely minimum inside a large bun, all that for £11.90 each, a side of chips that contained 9 chips, we had one beer, one coke and 2 saucy rump burgers one side of chips all 9 of them present the bill for £40.80.
We complained to the waitress, she was friendly and told us it depends what type of chef we have in, a other customer close to us ordered a burger no cheese no bacon, what did he see in his burger you got it cheers and bacon. He left refused to pay waitress agreed. We will never ever eat again in this burger restaurant, we highly recommend any readers to avoid this over priced burger place with terrible burgers that no way reflect the juicy and well descriptive menu of the Saucy Rump...
Read moreDescending down to a dark atmospheric yet lit up restaurant, offering a very descriptive menu of pork and beef burgers. The price displayed are for the burger only, ranging from £7.50 - £9.50. Sides are to be ordered and charged separately.
We ordered The Jack, Topsy Turvy and Honolulu Babe burgers complete with 2 portions of Onion Popcorn and 3 thick milkshakes which totalled to £44. The service charge took the bill up to £47.52 for 3 adults dining.
Small print on burger menu states there’s an 8% optional service charge which all goes to the staff. If you feel the service was not up to scratch, then you may ask for this charge to be removed.
Loved the fact burgers were not served on a plate, moist hand tissues were provided, customers given a choice of 2-flavours per each milkshake.
This restaurant would be ideal for the occasional meet up as the prices and charges are a little over the average. However, the atmosphere of the place and quality of the food is worth a visit. I do advise visitors to open the moist tissue before handling food, a little grease on your hands makes it impossible to open the...
