Despite its premium pricing, Fluffy Fluffy falls short on delivering an experience that justifies the cost.

When they first opened, long wait times might have been excusable as growing pains. However, with the store now running for over a month, the service remains frustratingly slow. My visit on a Friday evening at 6 pm was a prime example.

On arrival, there were 4-5 empty tables, yet my husband and I were made to wait by the door for 15-20 minutes while staff in the kitchen left us waiting in the cold. During this time, we noticed several griddles sitting idle while customers—at least five tables—were clearly waiting for their food. This inefficiency was glaringly obvious.

When we were finally allowed to order at 6:35 pm, we chose the Biscoff pancakes. Having been here before, I warned my husband about the potential wait. Sure enough, the pancakes arrived 27 minutes later at 7:02 pm. During our wait, once again mutiple griddles were left empty time after time (as seen in the picture attached). It’s baffling that such a simple dish—two pancakes, six banana slices, a dollop of cream, and some crushed Biscoff—took nearly half an hour and is openly advertised to have a 25 minute serve time. If one staff member focused solely on using the griddles efficiently, orders could easily be prepared in 10-15 minutes.

Beyond the slow service, the pricing is simply unjustifiable. £9 for such a minimal dish is steep, especially when paired with a 30-minute average wait time.

Once the novelty of Fluffy Fluffy wears off, the store risks being remembered for its inefficiency rather than its food - which would be a waste of a well-decorated space.

Management needs to urgently address the roles of kitchen staff and streamline operations. Until then, the experience remains disappointing and far from worth the...

Are the pancakes as fluffy as they say? Yes ........ Yes they are. This is such a great place to come to eat, whilst having a chat with loved ones or friends. Fluffy fluffy has a great menu and selection of foods to choose from. It's not just a desert shop, the menu includes some lovely dishes. It also has coffees, milkshakes, matcha drinks and many more items of choice. The atmosphere is really wonderful and their always seems to be a good vibe in there. The front of the store is all glass and therefore a wonderful place to people watch whilst eating, if that's something you like to do. Fluffy fluffy is a place to hang with friends and eat pancakes or a place to chill on your own with a nice cup of tea. I have also seen students do their work here, whilst ordering coffees and pancakes to keep them going. The store is located on the main shopping strip of Cardiff, named Queen Street, which you can only walk to, not drive. The stores front doors are wheelchair accessible and there is a toilet on site. The main car parking area would either be within St. Dewi's shopping centre or there is also an NCP nearby too. The store is really clean and the toilets too. It's nice to see a store adhering to good infection control and hygiene standards. The staff are probably one of the coolest parts about coming here, they are friendly, kind, helpful, polite, to name a few. Whenever I go there, they are professional and courteous.
