This place is basically a manifesto on why you should always spend your money on a local independent business instead of a chain.
First of all, the food and coffee. The owner made me try their "world famous fish fingers sandwich" and oh boy! Bread was fluffy and thick, the sandwich was tasty and even the salad dressing was surprisingly good. The Victoria sponge cake was amazing, wonderful taste and moist, plus it was a real slice, not the tiny lego piece you get in certain coffee shops. The coffee is also really good! There are a lot of good specialty coffee places in Cardiff tho, so for me the star of the show was the FOOD. Later on, when I was contemplating my choice of diner, he offered to put a twist on my egg sandwich and yet again, 10/10, flavortown. My tastebuds were having a party. And it was so appreciated that he took the effort to make the sandwich even funkier than it was. Second point, the owner is so kind! He was incredibly accommodating and helpful and without being invasive, he made sure I felt welcomed. You can tell he really wants you to have a good day and tries to create something special in here. Last but not least, this place has so much to offer. They have lockers you can rent for luggage storage, a SHOWER, a small conference room type of situation, and pretty much anything for the bike fanatic. I don't bike but it's pretty cool that they offer workshops! The atmosphere is very relaxing and wholesome.
In conclusion, go support them. They're amazing!! It really makes you wanna have something like this in...

I would normally order the brunch and a coffee and another coke to spend the afternoon there working on the research. The coffee and sandwich was good but the cake was too sweet. The staff is very friendly especially the girl with hijab.
But the boss, Tom, was too greedy and rude. He created this promotion for student discount to attract students, but when I show my student card, he told me that I should work in the cafe. And he talked loudly how cheap is the international student that he can make a profit in the operation to a journalist. I thought maybe he meant for me to hear, but wasn't sure. My spending in the cafe was not small added all together. But he has to devalue me to a potential waitress, rather than a customer. My last visit to the cafe was before I graduate. He invested this loyalty program that if you collect 9 hot drinks, the 10th hot drink is on the house. I collected 9 coffees, and when I asked for the 10th coffee. He told the barista to make it decaf. And I drank it, it was decaf. Because it is free, so I cannot enjoy it. So much for customer loyalty. I never...

I was a bit unclear on how the cycle storage all worked, as I wasn't sure if it was ok to just wheel my bike in through the front door, but it turns out that's exactly what you do.
The staff are friendly and right there at the counter to help out or direct you to the best storage for your needs. They were even willing to help me lift my heavy bike onto the storage racks, although that turned out not to be necessary as it was quiet so there was lots of room to park my bike on the flat.
You lock your bike up, then leave a name and contact number with a member of staff, and you can pay upfront or on departure. It's really flexible, and such great peace of mind if you're very fond of your bike like I am and don't like parking it on the street.
I'm so happy something like...
