Restaurant GDK offers a remarkable culinary experience, combining a welcoming ambiance, high-quality food, and attentive service. My recent visit was made even more memorable by the outstanding hospitality of Nimra, whose professionalism and warmth significantly enhanced the dining experience. Ambiance & Atmosphere The restaurant boasts a modern yet cozy interior, with tasteful decor that strikes a balance between elegance and comfort. The seating arrangements are well-spaced, ensuring privacy while maintaining a lively atmosphere. Soft background music and subtle lighting contribute to a relaxed dining environment, making it suitable for both casual outings and special occasions. Culinary Excellence GDK’s menu features a diverse selection of dishes, catering to various tastes and preferences. The food is prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the presentation is impeccable. Standout dishes include their signature grilled specialties and flavorful appetizers, which showcase the chef’s expertise. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring great value for money. Exceptional Service by Nimra What truly set this dining experience apart was the exceptional service provided by Nimra. From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with genuine warmth and professionalism. Her in-depth knowledge of the menu was impressive—she provided excellent recommendations based on our preferences and dietary requirements. Nimra’s attentiveness was consistent throughout the meal. She checked in at just the right intervals, ensuring we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile, such as accommodating special requests and ensuring timely service, reflected a high level of dedication to guest satisfaction. Read moreBeen coming here since it opened and its gone downhill since the till lady has changed over to the rudest woman. Purple lipstick, black glasses and dark eyes and hair. Under current circumstances of the pandemic, we are unfortunately out of work, unlike the ungrateful staff at Gdk who are still earning money and can't seem to offer the lowest form of customer service. We were told our food would be ready in 45 minutes and was called just before 30 minutes stating it was ready. We obviously weren't ready to be there for that time so we said due to you telling us our food was ready, can you please ensure we don't spend the little money we currently have on cold food and make sure its hot. Our food was not hot and when we requested it to be reheated or re made she refused and said they were closed at 10.15pm. She is constantly rude to me when I come in, she accused me of lieing about my phone number and collection previously, she rolled her eyes when i asked for plastic knife and fork, we are continuously told to bring cash as their card machine doesn't work sometimes apparently when in fact this has never been the case. I dont expect to be paying for cold food and rude service. I'm also getting sick of the staff speaking to each other in their own language infront of me instead of serving and also hanging up on the phone without confirming orders or saying goodbye. I dont like writing bad reviews, i haven't bothered to do it until now but something needs to change. I am aware this isn't a 5 star gourmet restaurant but basic etiquette and manners is a necessity in...
Read moreGDK is really tough to review.
I genuinely think their standard Doner Kebabs are the best I've had, really stuffed with great tasting meat, a good ratio of salad and sauce. If you get it in a boss box then it gets even better.
But after that they seem to start to head in the wrong direction. The quesadillas are almost empty and rather plain, relying of jalapenos make up for lack. The panini has great bread but is similarly empty and over reliant on admittedly tasty sauce.
As for atmosphere it is very lacking, the interior feels cold and the vibe doesn't make sitting to eat enjoyable, I don't have much to say about the staff which I'd say is not a good thing because they've never made enough impression to surpass automated machines (sorry if that's harsh).
Finally my biggest concern for the place that literally makes my favourite kebab, they don't seem to have any system for separate prioritisation of delivery orders and order placed by customers waiting to eat in store, which on a Saturday night is a terrible idea.
We had experiences where we sat and waited 30m+ for our order to even show itself on their order screen whilst 30+ deliveroo and Uber eats guys flowed in and out to pick up their orders...this is not a great feeling as someone who is right there wanting to eat in their shop.
I'm not saying we should be priority, if online is big business then it needs to be served...but balance please! Last time felt like it took so long they may as well close the customer facing side, increase their production area and just serve online...
