I usually don’t like to leave reviews but my experience today was so disgusting I hope no one has to experience this and they never think it’s ok to sell food of this standard.
I ordered my food (curry goat) and the amount of hairs I found in it today was absurd. Couldn’t even eat it at all. The more I looked the more I found. The picture attached was from me looking for 30 seconds and had to bin it.
Curry goat does tend to be a hairy meat, so the preparation should be extremely thorough. The hairs you can’t get off, you should use a torch to burn off. It makes me think if they even do their due diligence after washing the meat and looking over it, or if they even bother washing it at all.
If that wasn’t the cherry on top, I also found human hair in the mix too. This is simply not ok and makes me sick to my stomach. I hope jerk station takes this review constructively. I have been a repeat customer and usually overlook small his-haps but today has left me speechless honestly.
This was one small meal, imagine the whole pot!!!

Read moreWhat an incredibly long waste of time that was…..I ended up walking away through boredom - watching the slowest moving service I’ve ever had to bear witness. I.very clearly ordered 2 x meals and had to repeat my order 3 x times to the lad that clearly wasn’t listening - very frustrating!
The food has a good reputation from the few people I’ve asked about it….but - the jerk chicken looked incredibly dry and the useless lad that offered his awful service squirted approx 20ml of a lame looking sauce from a plastic squirty bottle, that would’ve made the meal dry as hell. I had to walk away!! The frustration of the terrible slow and useless service and then the dry food offering. I couldn’t pay £32 for two market meals that look dry as hell.
To say I’m disappointed is a massive understatement…..I’ve had really high hopes for the spot. I rarely leave bad reports - but sadly this place deserves it. My advice…..new staff and a more authentic warm jerk sauce that I’ve had in so many excellent...
Read moreThe Jerk Station in Chelmsford is a real hidden gem! I ordered the Jerk Chicken Meal, which came with beautifully seasoned, smoky chicken that had just the right balance of spice and heat. The rice and beans were fragrant and perfectly cooked, and the sweet plantain added a lovely contrast that tied the whole plate together.
What really stood out, beyond the food, was the service. Austin, the owner, took the time to explain the dishes and the flavours, which I really appreciated as it was my first time trying authentic jerk. His passion for the food really comes through, and it made the experience all the more memorable.
If you’re in Chelmsford, I’d highly recommend making a stop at The Jerk Station — the food is full of flavour, comforting, and clearly...
