Guilt Trip in Cheltenham - let’s start with the coffee - easily one of the best I’ve had in town. Smooth, rich, and packed with flavour, as I drank it I wanted to immediately go back and order a second. My daughter got a vanilla and honey iced latte that she also really enjoyed. Their donut game is next-level too; I had the Blueberry Cheesecake donut, and it was deliciously indulgent, the creamy filling was very cheesecake like, a great mix of sweet and tangy with every bite. They clearly don’t mess around with quality here - I get a sense that they make what they make because they are very good at making them. The toasted sandwich menu looked great too, but I had lunch plans, so next time I’m in town I’m going back to try one. And trust me, there will be a next time. The staff were genuinely some of the friendliest I’ve encountered in town. The barista was great; they were answering questions, engaging and helpful. Guilt Trip’s got their own merch, and I can guess why - I’m already a fan after just one visit. They also sold Biltong, plus packets of a South African dried meat stick I think is called DroĆ«wors, but they called ā€œTick Tongā€. All in all, Guilt Trip knows exactly how to focus on doing a few things really well. I’m keen to go back and everytime I do I want to try one of each of the things they sell, and maybe then I’ll even think about buying a shirt.

one of my favourite coffee spots in cheltenham!! the donuts are a sight to behold as soon as you walk into the cafe; the seating is cosy and the upstairs area is decorated really nicely and the sofas are so comfy!! i hope they bring back the peppermint mochas around christmasstimeā„ļø because those were so good i came back twice in a row for them!!! ā˜•ļø the staff have always been super friendly, once even asking me what music i’d like playing and they put it on! i completed a lot of my coursework sitting upstairs by the window; it’s a great place to work and various times i’ve been inside i’ve seen others enjoying the cosy space. thank u to the whole team for such a lovely spot!!!šŸ©šŸ©šŸ©

It’s really nice here, I had a vanilla latte with an espresso glaze doughnut, very tasty. The coffee was lovely, silky and smooth. I would go there again however I wish the atmosphere was a little different. The music was a bit loud and not too dissimilar from what you might hear in a club. Remixes and stuff like that. I would definitely go again if the music was more of a calming jazz ambience/average cafe tunes. Obviously it’s personal preference but unfortunately the music has deterred me a little from going again as it was quite distracting while talking to my friend

2025 Update - just came back and clearly still understaffed. 20 minutes to wait for a coffee but there were only about 8 people sat down. They also started serving coffee in paper cups which is always a telltale sign.

Shows promise but needs some work.

Staff clearly stressed and overworked, snapping at each other in front of customers.

Tables upstairs piled high with dishes which were ignored for the 45 minutes we were in there (and there were a lot of half eaten doughnuts, not sure if that's because of the quality of them or just a coincidence). No trays available, which made taking food and drinks upstairs very awkward. They used takeaway coffee cups for drinking in instead of mugs. No plates left (as most of them were left on tables upstairs) so had to eat doughnuts from bags.

The simplistic decor is edging on looking neglected, unfinished, and run down rather than being stylish.

One of the ring doughnuts we ordered was pretty soggy whilst I'm certain that the other was not the one I ordered (however it was nice).

Will revisit in a month or two to see if things have improved, as I recognise at that they've only been open for a few weeks...
