On a quiet morning in Cheltenham, my family headed to WoodKraft to catch up with a smart, intelligent, and capable friends for brunch. Nothing beats good food, great conversation, and a comfortable setting for getting to know people better, and WoodKraft was a perfect location.
The sign outside boldly claimed they might have “the best hashbrowns in the world,” and honestly, they’re definitely in the running. Crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, perfectly seasoned—these hashbrowns aren’t just a side, they’re the star of the show. You can see from the pictures they aren’t typical, run of the mill hashbrowns. Everyone at the table ordered one, and I’ll say this: if you’re coming here for breakfast, you’re getting a hashbrown.
I went for the Bacon and Maple Pancakes, what I know of as a “Canadian Breakfast”. I did it mostly because I hadn’t had pancakes for ages. The pancakes were fluffy, the bacon crispy, and the maple syrup brought all the salty and sweet magic together.
Our table was full of variety. One guest had the WoodKraft Breakfast with black pudding on the side—a solid, classic big breakfast done right. Another guest opted for the Smashed Avocado on Toast, with poached eggs. Someone else got the Bacon and Goats Cheese Toast, a surprising combo that worked beautifully with the tangy goats cheese cutting through the richness of the bacon. There was an order of the Eggs Benedict - it all looked delicious.
The service was friendly, and the atmosphere relaxed, making it the ideal spot for a proper catch-up. Between the great food and the welcoming surroundings, it was easy to lose track of time while shared stories and experiences over breakfast and many coffees.
If you’re in Cheltenham, WoodKraft is worth a visit. I’ll be back...

Environment: 9/10 🪵 The restaurant are is situated upstairs and you can people watch if sat by the window (a favourite pass time of mine) 🪵I really like the fact they have kept the buildings characteristics as much as they could 🪵Tables are a little bit close together and you don’t have much to look at if you’re not sat by the...
Read moreJust a little further down Regent Street is this lovely restaurant. We were lucky to get a table, though it’s advisable to book ahead as we were told. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Service was prompt, and we had our lunch in good time. The food was tasty and satisfying. I went for the Eggs Florentine — wilted spinach on a muffin topped with poached eggs — which was nicely done. It’s a busy spot with plenty of diners chatting away, so the first floor can feel a little echoey, but it still had a pleasant atmosphere. While the food wasn’t outstanding, it was enjoyable and the menu offers a good range of options, including some vegetarian dishes. Coffees were a touch on the small side but flavoursome. The place was clean and well-kept, including the loos. All in all, a friendly and enjoyable stop just off...
