me and my friends went to watch the football this weekend. throughout the match the rest of my group of 6 ordered plenty of pints and we were having a nice time. up until a member of staff came up to me and said that i hadn’t ordered anything the whole time and that it is selfish and rude of me to watch the football and not drink anything. i tried to explain that my friends had been drinking plenty but she wasn’t interested in listening to me, only getting in my face and talking about how rude and inconsiderate i am, she also spoke about how abhorrent it was of me to leave to get something quick to eat, i did this only because we had asked a different staff member if they were still serving food and he said no. after she finished berating me she went to other tables near by and loudly told them how rude and inconsiderate i am and asked them if they agree. i sat there for a moment quite taken aback by how she spoke to me and she loudly said form the other side of the bar that if i felt guilty i should just leave because i was “winding her up sitting there” she never gave me a chance to explain that i have many personal for not drinking or she just didn’t care. i left in tears at how horribly she spoke to me and have absolutely no plans to go back as long as that foul woman is...
Read moreWe decided this year not to go to Cheltenham racecourse but to watch the Gold Cup from the comfort of a bar. We chose Tailors online and arrived at 11:30, settled into some comfy chairs with good views of 2 screens to watch, got a round in and chose our horses. There is a betting shop just around the corner so we had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was lively and everyone else there was clearly there for the racing - which brings me on to the only negative - the music whilst giving a nice background vibe, was a mix of contemporary and vintage but was so loud as to be in the foreground making it difficult to have a conversation. Now you're going to say "you're an old git and should shuffle off somewhere else" and it could be a fair comment But, the whole pub was there to watch the racing and chat and nearly everyone in there were over 40 and had to shout at each other, on any other day it wouldn't have mattered, we're doing it again next year but from...
Read moreI recently held an engagement party in the function room, which is downstairs at Tailors. The whole thing could not have gone more smoothly. The room was inexpensive, and we were able to meet with the chef beforehand, who was very friendly and helped us to plan a menu. On the day of the party, we were able to get there early and decorate the room how we liked without any restrictions. The party was great, and the chef had thrown in loads of extra food, which tasted amazing and with a great variety. All of the guests raved about the food, particularly the chilli con carne pizza! We were given our own bartender, and all of the staff were friendly and helpful, even helping to clear away empty plates and glasses, and to help us pack up at the end. Despite the fact that it was races weekend, and the rest of the pub was packed, we were given full attention. We really could not have picked a better place for the party, and definitely will be using it for...
