What a great addition to the Chichester food scene. Went tonight with my wife and had a fantastic meal.
They've done a great job with the restaurant and its immediately warm and welcoming (I remember it as the White Horse pub!).
To start we shared a Pembe Sultan which we'd never had before which was amazing, along with a great Muska Borek. Based on these, I could've just spent the night eating a selection of the starters!
For mains, my wife had the Imam Biyaldi a roasted aubergine dish which she loved, and I had the Kleftiko which I've had many times in Greece. This was slightly different as it was a sizeable lamb shank, which just fell apart as it was cooked so beautifully. I'd thoroughly recommend.
There's a good selection of wines to suit all budgets - next time I will try one of the Turkish ones! The portion sizes of the mains were so good, I simply didn't have room for desert.
It really was a great meal and we'll definitely be back. I should also say that the services was great. Very polite, friendly...
Read moreThe food was okay but the staff had so much attitude and sass which made the overall experience rather crap. one person i was with ordered a starter and they wanted it as their main. the employee was kind at first offering to make it a full meal instead of a starter which would be double the price. he then had so much attitude explaining to us were the starters were on the menu even though we had not asked and i'm assuming the starter was in a different language as it did not clearly say "starter" throughout our meal staff had kept looking at us with evils and at the end when i had asked for the bill he asked if we wanted dessert and i said no we are okay thank you and he gave us the dirtiest look ever and mumbled something under his breath. sorry if it seems like an exaggeration but i didn't appreciate how we were spoken to and it felt as if we were being judged. the burger meat tasted almost burnt as well. i know it's meant to be grilled but it...
Read moreVisited for first time tonight. Great calm and luxurious atmosphere with great jazz\laid back vibe. Food was beyond expectations, traditional and home cooked, no frozen or packets here!! Even the flat breads tasted so originally Turkish. Both meals were very tasty, good proportions and even vegetables were cooked in typical med style. Makes such a difference. We both had deserts, poached pear, not a common offering but perfectly cooked. Tiramasu very traditional and well made. This is a great restaurant, good atmosphere and lovely surroundings, money well spent. Authentic food and great selection of drinks, all made from scratch, rare these days. Price is good value for the standard of food, its nice to have an option away from restaurant chains. The secret to this venue is the private party room upstairs, ask them to show you. I hope this restaurant is well supported and continues its standards, we were impressed and...
