I had a very disappointing meal at Chennai Marina today. I ordered the chicken biryani around 9:30pm, but what I received looked like leftovers from the day rather than a fresh, hot meal. The bowl was half full and the biryani itself was completely bland and dried out. It made my throat dry and was so flavorless that it was inedible.
Making matters worse, the biryani did not come with any sides or sauces that one would expect. I had to ask the staff just to bring me something - anything - that I could eat the biryani with. The lack of sides and the dried out, bland taste of the biryani made me feel like I was being served leftovers rather than a fresh meal.
For the price I paid and coming in at a reasonable dinner hour, I expected much better quality and care put into my meal. The whole experience left me feeling extremely disappointed and like I wasted my money on food I could barely eat. I hope the kitchen and staff can improve on the quality and presentation of dishes in the future.
However, because of this terrible experience, I will not be dining here again, especially not at this later dinner hour. I also would not recommend that others eat here based on the poor quality...

The menu is extensive, with everything from crispy dosas and soft idlis to flavorful biryanis and rich curries. I tried the Mysore Masala Dosa, Chicken Chettinad, and the Hyderabadi Biryani—every bite was bursting with flavour and perfectly spiced. The sambar and chutneys were fresh and tasted just like home.
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the service was fast even on a busy evening. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and great for both casual meals and special gatherings. Special shoutout to the team for making sure we felt comfortable and welcome throughout.

Read moreReally delighted with the whole experience. Went with my 10 year old son tonight.
We ordered Filter Coffee, Mango lassi and chicken 65 as starters. For the main course, we ordered Amritsari Shahi Paneer and Varutha chicken curry on the bone with Malabar Parotta and Chappathi.
Food was excellent, curries were tasty and chicken 65 was done just right. Filter coffee was fantastic. Mango lassi was delicious, my son couldn't stop sipping on it.
The Chappathi's were soft and parottas were crisp and layered.
Drinking water was served in copper tumblers without being asked. This is definitely good old Chennai / Indian practice which was refreshing in a country where one had to ask for tap water or buy water.
The ever-silver plates and dishes in which food was were served spoke volumes on the details and careful selection.
Special mention to Karthik, who waited on us. He was sincere, authentic and thoughtful. Did a good job with multi-tasking, taking orders and delivering.
Highly recommend and we...
