Incredibly nice place and people!
We stumbled in here, almost accidentally, last weekend prior to a show at the St Bride's Centre around the corner.
We switched from getting takeaway to sitting in once we realised we had a bit of extra time and was very pleased we did so.
From the outside sign, and takeaway service on the right hand side you think this is just a typical greasy spoon cafe. So it was an incredibly nice surprise to come around on the left hand side and find such a nicely, warmly decorated seating area.
It's just typical cafe fare as far as the food goes, so it almost seems silly to compliment but again it was really good and a welcome surprise. Loved the coffee served in big glass mugs, which gave it a nice retro feel.
The staff were really nice too. No problem when I realised we had time to sit in and switched our order from takeaway.
And they were saying they were a family run / operated place, which I think really showed in their pride in the place, both in terms of the effort they've made to make such a lovely environment and in the quality of food they're serving up.
Great place and I hope it does well long in...
Read moreThe women in the kitchen appear friendly, there's a mirror that allows the kitchen staff to look into the seating area from the kitchen. They fail to realise that due to the noise from all the cooking and coffee machine etc that they're competing with the noise in the kitchen, failing to realise their voices travel quite far. I was the only person in the seating area eating and could hear the kitchen staff talking about me, the lady couldn't see frm the angle of the mirror if I was eating my food. Then a staff member comes over to me and asks if everything is ok. Then reports back, she's eating it so it must b fine?! Never been back. Good prices but they kitchen staff can at times be very rude. They've made me feel uncomfortable in their cafe several times before this happened. The tables are all squashed together. It's difficult to sit in your seat if there's someone in the table behind as there's not enough room to pull ur seat in. Its uncomfortable and gives u indigestion trying to eat your food without disturbing someone at a table near by which...
Read moreI very rarely leave a review anywhere, but I just felt so compelled too, what a lovely atmosphere. My partner and I came in just for some rolls, and found that it was very lovely, had a great environment, decor was lovely and felt very homely, exactly what you want in a cafe. Considering how small it was it was beautifully set up. The hospitality from the lovely brunette lady behind the counter was brilliant, smiley and helpful. We both ended up getting breakfasts as they looked so tempting. Funny thing is my partner and I are usually very shy but it’s got such a lovely atmosphere we even joined in on the chat. On top of that, breakfast was absolutely delicious, hats off to the...
