My partner and I booked this restaurant prior watching the Edinburgh Military Tattoo Show. We were both very excited due to the good reviews and the love for Argentinian steaks. However, we did not have a great experience., This has honestly been the worst service we have encountered in the thousands of restaurants we have visited. I will be listing the disappointed that occurred on this night, due to the fact that this would be a very long review.
Upon arrival the waiter looked very flustered and had no clue where to sit us dow even though we had a booking. We were asked if we wanted water which we both agreed to. The waiter came back with out water after 15 minutes and left. after this it took at least 20 t minutes for the waiter to come back and take our drinks order, we asked if he could also take our food order as I was worried that he would again take a long time to come back and take our food order. The waiter replied no I would have to take your food order after, which was strange. 4.Our drinks arrived after 5 minuted and the Another waitress took our order. After this we waited for at least 30 minutes for the food to arrive ( at this point we were ready to just cancel and walk out as we were worried about the time but though to just wait for 5 minutes more) When the food finally arrived, the waitress forgot the side order fries it was to get her attention because she just placed the sauce on the side and left without asking if everything is ok and if we needed anything else ( I am only mentioning this as this is a normal thing to ask when you are in a restaurant) so my partner tried to get someones attention but couldn't not as they were just standing around and doing nothing, he had to get up from his seat and motion this to one of the acted like he didn't even know what was happening. The food was at a good standard however the steak was not rare and the side of fries with paprika tasted bland. Normally the steak would have been given back due to how it not cooked as per guidance, but because we just wanted quickly eat and get out of there we just said nothing.
8.When the bill arrived we were charged x2 service charges which was of course odd so we voiced this out on why this was and the waiter has said oh this must be a mistake.Because of how terrible the service was we asked for the service charge to be removed. Both server apologised saying that we are very sorry because our manager in not in today and that it it was because it is a weekend and very busy that night.
In my opinion these were not the reason why the service was so outrageously poor. It was because all three waiter/waitress did not know which tables they were serving for, this was because every time something was given to us it was a different server that aided to us and that we noticed that 2 waiters were standing at the bard and leaving waiter on how own to do everything. Lastly, we also got served after the people who arrived after us because they complained about their order not being taken yet.
Over all, it does sadden me that we have had this experience in this restaurant as I wanted it to be a great experience as the place looked great but the service was just a let down. I also wanted to mention that the couple next to us who did not speak great English seemed annoyed also as their orders...

Is doesn’t have too many seats and feels like a very peaceful place where you can go and be able to hear what the person across of you is hearing. The waiters were very nice and attentive. Now, the most important part, the food. I had the bread with chimuchuri, the nachos, and the empanadas to start with. The bread with chimmichuri was very basic and nothing more or less than you’d expect from some nice toasted bread. The nachos were very flavorful and generous with the toppings, even though I would’ve liked the cheese to be more melted instead of aggregated together with the nachos. The empanadas came with one vegetarian option containing cheese and tomato sauce, which was wonderful. The meat empanada had a unique taste which wasn’t my favorite but if this is how Latin empanadas are made, who am I to fault them. For the main, I got a ribeye steak, which came cooked exactly as I requested, being medium. Definitely very tender and flavorful, I’m guessing the chef didn’t add much salt as I had to add some myself but that is plausible as some people don’t like a good amount of salt, so I appreciated the option. It came with a side salad which was a very nice contrast to the heavy piece of steak, as well as one portobello mushroom which I didn’t really enjoy or see the point of, I would’ve much rather preferred something like some roast peppers or even potatoes, but again, I came for the steak so I didn’t care for a mushroom I didn’t like. I got 3 sauces with the steak, garlic butter, peppercorn, and chimmichuri. I would definitely only go for the garlic butter next time. I also had the asparagus with the peppercorn sauce which was a wonderful addition. To finish off for dessert, I had a sticky toffee pudding which was made excellently with very...

We ordered sourdough and oysters for appetizers and tried to order the seafood pasta and monkfish curry for mains however they informed us they were out of the pasta already (not a special just a regular item on their menu) which was surprising for 7pm on a Thursday when the restaurant had 2 tables seated. Switched the order to the scallops. It took over an hour for our roasted sour dough with butter appetizer to come out, and 15 minutes longer for the oysters after that. Several of the oysters had issues, 1 was dead and dry and shouldn't have reached the table. We told the staff and they offered to comp 3 of the 12 we ordered. We only ended up eating 6 as we were concerned about the shellfish quality after that. The scallops were over cooked and the asparagus was undercooked that came with it, and it was all smothered in enough butter you'd think it was popcorn. Taste was okay. Came with overcooked and stale fries. Monkfish curry was mediocre at best. Drinks were okay but expensive. Overall bill came out to 110 pounds (74 for food and remaining for 2 Aperol spritz and a scotch neat) after they added a service charge and took off 10 pounds for the oysters (the 3 previously they said they'd comp).
Side note, due to food taking so long the staff came by and apologized a couple times but offered no explanation. They also brought us olives free of charge about 30 minutes in, which was difficult to eat without any other food being offered or at the table.
Staff was kind and understanding in conversation but this restaurant has a lot of kinks to work out. Would not...
