I have been here twice now and this restaurant is truely outstanding.

There is a lot of work and passion in to making this a great experience for diners. There is good music at the right volume which adds to the atmosphere well. Both the chef and host are very accommodating and make you feel at ease, I'd say you can be as involved or uninvolved as you like with them and they will adjust to how receptive you are. As this is a chef table experience you can see some of the process that goes into the food and explanations are given, they are more than happy to answer any questions you have.

The food is exceptional, not a single dish isn't well though out, delicious and well presented. The timing between courses and throughout the whole experience is perfect. Very good with the balance of flavours and textures too. I didn't leave feeling heavy like after some tasting menus but simply satisfied.

Chairs are comfortable and are great for this setting as the tops turn slightly so you don't feel uncomfortable constantly turning if you are going with someone. Very clean and tidy space which with a modern cosy feeling.

I could go on forever, in some ways wanna keep this place for me for selfish reasons but they deserve to go very far and I hope they do.

Easily one of the best places to eat in Edinburgh for a fine dining experience in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Thanks for the...

Want an intimate, unpretentious but seriously skilled fine dining experience? Chef Brian and sommelier Glen are your duo. What a fantastic, memorable evening we had! The menu was incredibly effective - real food, cleverly elevated to fine dining, whilst showing off local ingredients and making them the stars of the show. The smoked salmon was unlike any we've ever had (Brian would tell the story of where and how it was smoked according to his specifications), the venison was incredible, a perfectly seared scallop was the star of another dish. Beautiful, perfectly crispy and fresh sourdough bread was served, with a seasoned butter that we couldn't get enough of. No unnecessary foams and snows seen here!

Glen was an effervescent host alongside Brian, full of stories and hospitality. Glen's clever wine pairings showed such a careful attention to detail without relying on obvious choices, instead doing a lot with lesser known producers and regions. Such was his intent to offer the best that can be found that he's even sourced great quality teas and for the first time ever anywhere in the UK I was offered Greek mountain tea - a Greek staple with no real exporting power, suddenly served in this gem of a restaurant in Edinburgh.

Can't wait...

Absolutely fantastic meal at Eorna. Every aspect complimented each other so that you left feeling well fed and like you had just spent an evening sitting at a friend's having the most wonderful food and drink. Glen is an excellent host and ensures you feel welcome, relaxed and his wine and drink suggestions, ensure you have the best pairings to compliment the food. Both Glen and Brian do a great job of explaining the food and chatting to you, while giving you the space to chat with the company you are with. They are seasoned professionals at the top of their game and it shows. Brian's food meanwhile is exquisite. Presentation is fantastic and the flavours just work so well. The amount of food, with the time and detail put into it, makes the tasting menu also good value. There are several good tasting menu restaurants in Edinburgh but Eorna just has that little something extra, that you can't quite put your finger on but has you leaving feeling wellfed and happy, having spent over four hours being subtly looked after and fed. Somehow it manages to be both a relaxed experience but indulgent at the same time. Would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone...

Was it the impeccable service, the amazing ambience or the Halibut combined with freshly sourced Truffles from San Minato. Well it was all of that and more. Each dish delighted in its own right, making you eager for what was to come next from Mr Grigor, as he calmly worked his magic in front of us. And with each plate the expertise of Mr Montgomery brought some incredible wine pairings to bring this experience up another level. If I had to pick two things, which is no easy task. Then it would be the final dish of Perthshire Strawberries and White Chocolate, as this was just an unexpected combination for me. And also being able to try the Trimbach Riesling, in addition to some incredible wines in the wine pairing. Thanks you for a gastronomy experience in an incredible intimate setting. It feels like I got to dine in a Michelin Restaurant before the stars arrived, I fully expect to see this in an upcoming Michelin Guide Book with at least one rosette next to its name.

It feels unfair to rate this anything other than a 5, just due to the sheer amount of effort thats gone into the experience. Its a wonderful way to try things that maybe you wouldnt usually have, and to push you out of your comfort zone, but that also means that one or two of the dishes were not really ro ojr tatse. That doesnt mean they were bad, far from it, but when your paying so much you (perhaps unfairly) expect everything to be the nicest thing youve ever tried, which saldy wasnt the case. Though for the msot part it was excpetional. Brian and Glen were both lovely, and it was teuoy anazing watching Brian make 12 identical paltes of the some of the most beautiful looking food time and time again. I will say, leg room is a little tight for four hours and it did get quite hot. Unique, amazing and definitely a meal I'll remember. But worth the hedty price tag? For us, no. But for others, no doubt it will be.

In short, this is was an incredibly memorable meal that my husband and I will be talking about for many years to come. If you’ve found yourself here reading reviews, book this dinner without hesitation. The food is incredibly fresh and locally sourced. Chef Brian extremely talented, and so kind. The food and flavors were absolutely divine. The service was extraordinary - interacting with both Glen and Brian throughout the evening. They’ve mastered great service and dining experience. We enjoyed the concept and it felt like an evening out with old friends - both interacting with those seated next to us, and with Brian and Glen. It was the best meal on our 10 day trip around Scotland, and top of list for best meals in our lifetime thus far. I look forward to seeing what great things lie ahead for eòrna, and would return without hesitation should I find myself in Edinburgh again! Very highly recommend!
