I liked most of all the ambience of this place. When I arrived for the breakfast early in the morning, I remarked that the staff of the coffee bar (a nice girly team) was in a very good mood, they had such a positive vibe. They were doing their job with pleasure. This is very important because, if the staff likes what it does, the client feels happy too. As for the food, it was fresh and the quality was preserved, but it depends on what you choose. I started with a hummus toast which was cold by default, probably not the best option for winter, and it was also kind of dry. I could not unfortunately finish it. The hazelnut toast was much better. The disappointing point is that they do not propose a freshly squeezed orange juice. But, on the other hand, here, the client does not have to leave the table one hour later, compared to other coffee bars in Edinburgh. With that being sad, Fortuna Coffee bar is worth it.

Great little Cafe with great food and quick friendly service. If you are staying nearby, like at the Yotel, this is a nice alternative to go to. The atmosphere is good, if a little cramped, and there are signs stating that if it is busy, to not start playing around on your laptop due to the space. Food was a good serving for the price paid but the 8.5% surcharge for sitting in was a bit harsh, though they did warn us about that before we ordered. I know Starbucks does this type of thing, and as we have just gotten back, we were not sure if this is now common practice for cafes in the area. Other than that, food was great, staff were friendly, and service was fast when we visited around 10 in the morning. Will probably go again.

Can’t really fault this place. It’s small so have a plan B if there are no seating. The staff are spot on. I noticed how on the ball they are at cleaning tables after someone has finished. The menu is good with options to cater for most diets. I went with the blackberry and Brie toast which was lovely. Initially I thought they maybe overdone it with the blackberries but it was great. My wife got scrambled eggs on toast which she also enjoyed. She also got a hot chocolate which was very good. To take away we got a millionaire shortbread and a ginger and cranberry slice. Both of them were nice but the ginger slice was brilliant with a lovely soft texture. The price of everything was not too expensive, especially for city centre.

Me and my partner came here around 11.30 on a Tuesday.

Greeted immediately when we walked in the door by 2 really friendly ladies.

We sat down and at first glance the prices threw us off a bit but we said we would chance it.

My partner got the scrambled eggs on toast with extra bacon and I got a cream cheese bagel with smoked salmon and a latte.

The coffee was maybe the best I've had in Edinburgh so far, really really good. The bagel was lovely lots of salmon and loaded with cream cheese. My partner enjoyed his order too.

Would definitely come back here, the staff and the quality of the food is definitely worth paying a bit extra!

Service charge of 8.5% is added which it states on the menu but to be honest we would've left a tip regardless so it didn't bother us!

Definitely go here if you like good quality food, fast service...

Scrambled eggs made in the microwave for 7-50 on one single piece of toast is Overpriced my opinion our breakfast came to fifty pounds and we had nothing major. Touristy place with a hefty service charge. Lola’s round the corner much better value. I think the reply is a bit hostile, it definitely didnt say microwave eggs on the menu and i cant see where my review says im surprised by the price but it does say it was overpriced which is my opinion and im entitled to that. It was clearly overpriced for one toast and few eggs with a service charge on top. As stated also in my review I recommend another breakfast restaurant. Your reply seemed a bit hostile and appreciate you replying but if you’re offended by a honest review maybe just not reply. Lesson learnt. Wish you...
