Price: £ Food: 8/10 Cocktail Making session: 7/10 Staff: 5/10 We booked into here for a hen party, cocktail making session and arrived half an hour before so we could grab a drink prior to the session. Immediately we could tell that it was really busy. It took 25 minutes until I, personally, got served at the bar. On top of that, our session was nearly half an hour late. I want to make myself clear, the staff are not at fault here at all. They were going as fast as they could. I actually felt awful for the people working there that day. They were understaffed and seemed overworked. So much so that the guy who was hosting the session wasn’t even from that establishment and had been brought in especially. The cocktails were great and the session was fun. Had thought maybes there would be more than two cocktails to make. The only thing that I would maybes suggest would be for the snacks and nibbles to be served during the cocktail making session. I think that I’d like to try and come back again when it is a little less busy as I would like to believe this experience does not represent what it is usually like.

We pre booked a table here friday 5/4/24 7pm As frequent customers to Edinburgh/Glasgow branches We were given a free bottle of procceo due to it being my husbands birthday We were greeted and show to our table by a young man who explained to use app for booking unfortunately we couldn't get the app to take our order I stood at the bar for 15min waiting to place my drinks / food order while the young man chatted to all thr young girls at the bad and processed there orders before me We waited a further 45min for food to be served 5he food ie fish chips n mushy peas were not great at all fish was extremely large in comparison to amount of chips and ther was around 2 teaspoon of peas( very very greasy fish ) all dirty dishes and glasses remained on the table and was still there when we left and all the tables next to and around us despite staff walking around serving drinks/ food So disappointing service was appalling

Seven chatty chicks met up for an afternoon catch up . The chat was great, the staff lovely, the service ok but the food was awful . The quality was appalling. One of us had fish and chips which was sent back as the fish was dry and there was more batter than fish. The replacement portion was marginally better . The steak sandwich was cold and was not good steak. The chicken and chorizo skewers were pathetic. Two small skewers each with two dry tasteless pieces of chicken thigh in between tiny slices of tough overcooked pieces of chorizo. The chicken pasta and the sharer for two were just edible. On a high note the chips were really good. While the face to face staff were apologetic there was no offer to reduce the bill . It was quiet and therefore no excuse could be offered that they were busy. Needless to say the chatty chicks will be roosting elsewhere in future

Cheery chappy serving, but the food was unbelievably disappointing. Group of 7, Sunday lunchtime and only another couple of people in, so the kitchen wasn’t busy. Fish and chips overcooked and dry, steak sandwich cold, pasta came at least 10 mins after everyone else’s, but the fish and steak had to be replaced, so no one eating at the same time anyway! Two of us had the ‘main’ meal of chicken and chorizo skewers, I almost laughed out loud! The chorizo, cut up, must have been the size of a cocktail sausage to begin with, and the chicken, between both skewers, was honestly not even one chicken thigh! They were like bite size skewers at a buffet! In a way a blessing, because they were neither cooked or seasoned well, and were also cold. So dry it was a fight to get the meat off the cocktail stick sized skewer! They came with chips, ‘salad’, consisting of a pile of lifeless iceberg lettuce, no more than one cherry tomato chopped up and a few slices of cucumber, undressed or seasoned, oh, and best not forget the spoonful of hummus. I honestly don’t think any self respecting chef, who can cook and loves food, would serve up these embarrassingly bad meals! If the person/people who sent this out of the kitchen are chefs, well I’m in the wrong job, because I cook better than this every day of the week! Obviously just a George Street chain, who thinks mugs will come in and eat food hardly edible for dogs, just because of the location. Sorry we were the mugs today, but never again, and would advise any friends to never go here. If you can’t cook, maybe just stick to drinks, instead of serving up barely edible rubbish. Also note, despite sending back 2 meals (should really have sent them all back) and telling staff we were all disappointed at the end, nothing discounted from the bill. Just all round disappointment. Please don’t waste...

City centre location. Good range of cocktails (which were on offer at 50% off at the time if visit). You can order on their app and they will deliver your food/drinks to your table. However, on saying all the positives there's also an array of negatives. The app ordering is poor. If you can actually get it to work, it can take a while before you receive your order. We waited 1.5 hours for ours to arrive. You can still order at the bar but the number of staff serving at the bar is greatly limited compared to the number of staff seen (in our case only 1 was serving at the bar, the other 6 were "doing something" else). In busy times (we arrived at 3pm on a Saturday) this can still take a while to be served and there's no formal way of waiting. We waited 40 minutes and watched a couple of times people come straight in and be served. So it depends on who catches the server's eye as to who's next. Unfortunately the management aren't much better. They have a casual approach to issues and seem to be more concerned about getting as much money from whoever as possible. The tables we were sat at, had plates which had never been cleared away from previous customers. In addition to these plates and glasses from those customers. At no point were any of our own glasses etc cleared. Which meant more and more build up of clutter at the tables. On our last order at the bar, it had become fairly clear that they were running out of glasses for each type of drink.

Although I can't blame the staff as such for this, it does go to show that the management do not have a control of the situation and customer service clearly isn't a priority to them.

Based on this experience, it is unlikely that we will return to this establishment but may go back to their "sister" location (of the same name) at the Omni Centre (which is 5 minutes walk from the...

Avoid, company need to review their recruitment. Especially with aggressive people in charge (apparently his name was Ross) who got extremely defensive and intimidating when we asked for the complaints procedure and to the speak with the manager.

We had a really disappointing experience at Slug & Lettuce Edinburgh, george street. We had booked a cocktail-making class with a group but arrived late While the staff had kindly accommodated the rest of the group, which we were very thankful for, when my friend and I arrived, the person in charge was immediately rude and dismissive and refused to serve us for no valid reason.

We didn’t expect to join the class at that point—we only wanted to have a drink with our group. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they escalated things and even threatened to call the police when we simply asked to speak to a senior staff member. We were not aggressive or causing any issues, just trying to understand why we were being refused service. From that moment on, the staff wouldn’t even engage with us rationally, it was totally unnecessary.

We had an excellent time in Edinburgh, but I would strongly suggest avoiding this place. It was the only venue we visited where the staff were openly rude and unwelcoming. Do not recommend unless you want to be...
