This is the worst run place I have had the misfortune to visit. Twice I swore i would not go back but on Monday of this week 9th of May made my mind up give it a wide berth. There is very seldom any visible management presence to be seen and on this day my wife and I went in late morning and the usual crop of laptops and folder toting business freaks with their 'single coffee' were taking up five cubicles which adds up to 20 seats. The tables had not been cleaned and we had to ask someone from behind the counter to come and clean one for us. There does not seem to be anyone on the floor to clean table any more and it is the worst sort of hygiene to leave tables dirty from a health safety point of view. There were also children running all over the place without being told to sit down especially when people are carrying hot drinks and food. Finally we walked out in the middle of our meal when two workmen and a large ladder arrived at our table they proceeded without an apology and to started removing a large ceiling tile directly above our table. I told them that any dust or dirt from behind the tile would land on our table and he said there was no dirt behind the tile (never mentioning the bad manners of working on top of us at our table.) This was the last straw and we got up and left. We have now assigned McDonald's to our least likely place to visit when we go out in the morning or any other time for that matter. It does not cut any ice when you advertise your wares in glowing terms when the truth of the matter is that our experiences with your company is entirely different, after all we gave you three bites at the cherry! You should begin by taking on some good management as a matter of...
Read moreI am a big fan of the food in this restaurant, and regardless of which restaurant you are visiting in the country, you generally know what you are getting. There's a delicious range of burgers on offer, I always enjoy a good big Mac, double quarter pounder or a big tasty and on this occasion I snapped up a really tasty Philly cheese stack - a limited edition. The breakfasts are fantastic too, with highlights including the sausage and egg mcmuffin and deliciously crunchy hash browns, I do lament however the loss of the breakfast bagels, these were a fantastic addition to the breakfast menu but sadly, very sadly unavailable as has been the case for the last few years. Maybe they will bring them back one day? You can also get a decent coffee here - there's something for everyone. The only thing that marred this visit slightly, was the presence of a group of slightly scary looking youths - some of whom had concealed their faces behind ski masks, I'm sure there was nothing sinister going on but it's worth noting that this Macdonald's usually employs a security guard at night time, presumably due to the presence nearby of a fair collection of pubs, and the proximity to tynecastle stadium, the security guard was notably absent on this visit. All in all a pretty good...
Read moreAlthough I understand that there is currently a pandemic on and this business may be short staffed but things are opening up and not just this McD's but a lot of them are starting to fall in to this category. The level of service is beginning to drop and the words "fast food" may not be the correct why to describe them. Yes, it is good to have freshly prepared items but waiting times are starting to become like a regular restaurant or maybe even longer. On this occasion, granted I was in a hurry, I monitored the time from ordering through their app to collection using their Drive-Thru facility. It took 15 minutes to process the 5 cars in the queue, including mine. Although this is an average of just 3 minutes per car. When you're already notified of what is being collected, the process should be less. As all you are doing is confirming your presence and payment. Hopefully things will get better and I will be able to edit this review but at the moment, other quick eat places are definitely outdoing...
