We came here at the suggestion of our host in Edinburgh, and we’re sure glad we did! I’m pretty sure we were the only non-locals there which seemed kind of unusual, since it’s in the middle of the Haymarket area just across from Haymarket station.

Apparently, the bar has been there for quite some time, before the station was even built. The atmosphere is great, the service was, friendly and the food is outstanding. We ordered fish and chips and sausage over mashed potatoes blanketed with a rich brown gravy. Yes, these are typical UK bar items, but the flavors were well balanced, and deep. The fish was flaky and had a wonderful crust. The sausage was cooked to perfection, and the gravy was outstanding! The chips that came with the fish were stunners! I kind of want to go back and ask if the chef will put the gravy over the fries for me as dipping them in it was delicious!

They have a great selection of bruise on tap, and a very extensive whiskey menu. Each of our meals was 16 pounds per and the cost of the drinks was on par with the other pubs. We have been to. If you’re in the area, we highly suggested it… Especially if you’re looking for more of...

Last night was my first time at Ryrie’s but it will be one to remember. I was organising birthday drinks for a group of ~15 friends and the function room I’d booked at another place fell through last minute. With less than two hours to spare, I dropped by nearby Ryrie’s bar to ask whether they’d have space for us. Despite being understaffed on the busy Friday night, they made a quick decision to open up the upstair bar specifically for us, and it turned out to be just the perfect venue for our gathering — everything from the lovely interior, to great food and fantastic cocktails made the evening (which could have been a complete disaster!) really enjoyable for everyone. The staff went above and beyond with their service and we couldn’t have been happier. We’ll be definitely returning for a drink under less stressful circumstances in the very...

My friend and myself called into Ryrie's on our way to station. We had been through a difficult emotional day....😢 The manager on duty had such caring and understanding towards us inspite of the fact he had never met us. He reached out and listened to us. I was paying for our drinks and he immediately said 'you have had a difficult day, the drinks are from me. Our day was in relation to covid bereavement.....thankyou sincerely for your kindness beautiful caring young man. You will never know just how much this meant. I regard you and your bar top class and would recommend it 💯 %. You didn't have to do this but you did......it meant so much to us. Thankyou sincerely.......an amazing young man managing an amazing bar. Please visit, the warmth and care...

We popped into Ryries late on a sunday afternoon, the place had a lively atmosphere and a good mix of people. We were made welcome by the friendly and attentive staff behind the bar. There is a wide array of beers available and several real ales/ hand pumps. I chose to have a Happy Chappy followed by a pint of Jarl. Both were excellent! There are various sharing snacks available at very competitive prices and from what we saw, the food was of good quality and arrived quickly. The decor was old type pub and fitted with the location. The only critiscism would be one or 2 corners of the pub/ floor could do with a wee sweep. Overall, a great experience, and we will be back next time we are in Haymarket area, and we highly recommend you do as well.

Ryrie's bar is a refurbished old-fashioned bar with old-fashioned service. It is a favourite for locals & visitors alike. It has indoor & outdoor tables. It offers a small plates special for groups of 3 plates. We enjoyed the haggis bon bons in whiskey & marmalade sauce & the loaded fries. In fact, the loaded fries were a surprise & super tasty & fresh. Inside the bar is a screen showing the train times. Definitely recommended for a quick pint after work or a drop-in for a snack & pint.
