We came off a recommendation from a local bar to the restaurant. So we had a look at the menu which we were very impressed with, so we booked a table. When we got there we were greeted by the lovely staff and shown to our table. The staff gave us menus and took our drinks order. They gave us enough time to choose our food, never rushed us. Luckily with looking at the menu before hand we had quite the idea anyway. We ordered the chicken pakora which came with a lovely heated sauce and the sekuwa (chicken). Both me and my boyfriend shared the starters so we could get to try everything together. WOW!!! these were absolutely amazing so we couldn’t wait for our mains! You could taste the flavour in the chicken, you could tell it had been marinated over night. You could taste the garlic and ginger. Onto our mains I ordered the tandoori and he ordered the tikka. We both ordered rice and naan breads. Let me tell you definitely only need to order one rice and one naan between you because the portions were huge. Again we shared our mains to be able to try other things. Both mains were amazing! Our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies and we definitely had to tell the staff to tell the chef that there is absolutely nothing against the food at all because the food were so so good! The price were good also and was around £60 for the both of us! When we were ready to leave we had to thank the staff for their amazing service and food and you could tell how grateful they were! Next time we are in Edinburgh we will definitely be going back as we cannot recommend...
Read moreWent with my entire family after a long day out. We fancied something different and decided on this quiet little place based solely on the menu.
When we arrived, we were quickly seated and had our drink order taken by a nice wee lass. She gave us plenty of time to make our minds up, quite rare in restaurants these days. We ordered some starters to get a taste of things whilst enjoying the music and relaxed environment.
It didn't take long to decide after the starters. It was well cooked, nicely presented and very tasty. The main course took a while to arrive but it was understandable when it did. The food portions were large, everything was piping hot and looked magnificent when served up.
The food was lovely. We loved every bite. Even the spicier meals were juicy and were easy to digest. It wasn't greasy or fatty at all. The staff even went out their way to please my six year old, which was unnecessary but made her day.
At the end of the day, the meal had us stuffed and extremely satisfied. The price was well worth what we paid and was actually cheaper than the average takeaway. We have no complaints, we had a great time and only wish we didn't have to travel from Aberdeenshire to eat there.
I couldn't...
Read moreJust had a phenomenal meal at The Khukuri and felt compelled to share my experience! For anyone looking for a taste sensation, this place is a must-visit.
The service was absolutely top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food. They were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu and even offered recommendations based on my preferences.
But let's get to the main event: the food! Everything I tried was bursting with flavor. The chicken pakora was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The jhol momo were little parcels of deliciousness, and the chat samosa was a delightful explosion of textures and tastes. Honestly, my mouth is still watering thinking about it!
Each dish was clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and expertly seasoned. The chefs at The Khukuri have a real talent for creating food that's both authentic and incredibly satisfying.
Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The Khukuri gets a well-deserved 5 out of 5 stars from me. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience in Edinburgh, look no further than The Khukuri Restaurant. The delicious food, friendly service, and great value make it...
