Food is reasonably priced for the good standard.

Beef horfun didn't have too much beef, but the wok hey soy sauce aroma was on point. Noodles were abit too thick and slight dry inside, but overall it's decent

Har gow was excellent. Skin was good, nice crunch from the bamboo shoots, flavourful filling that's the firmest I've had, and properly flavourful, which is rare even in Asia. Must try

Pan fried Chive dumplings skin wasnt good, filling average too

Meican kouroufan was not bad, it's quite different from the Chinese style but it's pretty well executed, and esp the sweet soy sauce was very authentic

Ckn claw was tender but the flavour was not standard, more peppery. It's ok

Xiaolongbao is ok for Edinburgh, skin was good but no sauce inside

Overall very high standards for Edinburgh, worth a try. Har gow is a must try even for hongkongers. Good enough to ignore their cash only rule(not even WeChat which is super weird)

Second visit: Tingzai porridge pretty good, some cheap ingredients but overall decent standard

Hargow good as ever

Siu mai tasteless

Spicy bean curd sauce steamed ckn was very plain, exceptionally weak beancurd sauce

Pork ribs ckn claw rice was ok, the ingredients not very generous and the toppings weren't too quality, a lot of rice given, but everything is made ok by their excellent accompanying sauce which...

Tried lots of dishes off the menu and couple of things were really tasty but some of them were surprisingly bland, including both the pork and the beef stew. Seemed odd to receive ketchup as a dip with dumplings, and then what tasted exactly like Worcester sauce with duck spring rolls. Had to ask for soy sauce, chili sauce and was given tiny little dish of each. Our soft drinks were from multi packs and flat from the can.

Despite a pleasant initial greeting where the hostess sprayed antibac gel into our hands, the rest of the service was not attentive- waitress seemed stunned when asked what was good on the menu and didn't really engage with us. She just circled nearly everything on the paper menu. Couldn't catch her attention once during the meal despite it being a tiny place. The older waitress seemed to be very strict with the younger one so probably she just hates working there and felt bit sorry for her. We left a tip regardless and staff didn't even say goodbye or thanks for the custom, despite there being only two tables of customers. The bill was expensive for what it was as well.

Have been so excited to try this place and hoped it would become a regular dinner spot but sadly was just...

Doesn't even deserved any star (too bad I can only hit the least star!). The entire shop was shabby and dirty. Dirty toilets too!! These was the few things that killed my appetite from the start.

The lady that was taking orders and serving, should really be more service oriented. Her way and styles of responding to any customers in the shop during our entire time there was shockingly rude, indefinite she's the owner/ boss or not but her one of the kind attitude was absolutely speechless! Over hearing her answering our next table customer made my jaws dropped let alone her sulking attitudes that she gave my husband from the start till end and yet we still have to keep to our composure and being civilised!!

That was our first visit and will also be our last. At any given time if our daughter was not with us, we will surely had walked off despite reservation made but we had to stick to it as not disappointing her.

We believed all the praising reviews to this shop might not even be genuine as the way this lady serves alone are intolerable. No one deserves that kind of services.

Definitely not a place to be for a...

Oooh really good dim sum! Everything we had ordered was on point, especially the highly recommended braised pork and preserved veg steam pot rice! The pork belly was meltingly soft and it’s sauce went so well with the steamed rice which had absorbed the umami flavour of the beautiful fat and the preserved veg gave the perfect saltiness and crunch to cut through the richness of the dish. The service was super friendly and seating by really cosy, so the owners were very personable, chatting with us and giving us great recommendations. We could see that all the tables around us had happy smiles on all the faces as we all keep reaching for the menu to order more and more dishes after eating each delicious morsel. The only negative was the Quick fried beef hot fun which although was ok tasty, was a tad oily and there were still chunks of the rice noodles that were stuck together. The dish was lackluster and I felt it could have been done with more beef (small thin pieces that were abiT overcooked) and noodles looser (not in chunks) But overall, def a great place! Next time I wanna try all their Steam pot rice!!

Came here on a date night after finding it on google maps. Wow what a lovely little hidden gem off of Leith Walk. We are currently on a food journey exploring different authentic cuisines and Stack Dim Sum was just that! We tried the Char Siu Bun- which was fluffy and sweet and succulent. Slow Braised Chicken Claw in Black Bean- which was flavourful, succulent again and different! The Vietnamese spring roll was one of our favourites which came with fresh lettuce on the side. The wager crispy prawn soya skin roll was served with Worcestershire sauce and had delicious prawn inside! My favourite was the Slow Braise Cubed Beef in rich chi hou sauce with noodles! All food came fast, fresh and very hot! Atmosphere is quiet and almost private but for a date night it’s lovely to just sit and eat and enjoy your meal together! Altogether with two coca-colas was £37! Very reasonable, lovely staff, definitely will come back with a bigger crowd!
