I love pizza, I would eat it for every meal if I could, but then I would turn into one and I would be forced to eat myself...
Anyway, OpenTable recommended this little piece of Italian heaven on my latest trip to Edinburgh before Sundays rugby (come on Scotland!) and honestly it was the best pizza I have had ever since I went to Italy on my honeymoon in 2017.
We were seated by the window in a quieter corner of the restaurant, but even though it filled up quickly, the atmosphere was still relaxed. The staff were friendly and efficient.
And I mean efficient, we ordered our food at 18:02 and within minutes the starter arrived. It was a ball of mozzarella and tomatoes, delicious and refreshing.
Then can the pizza and it was like I was sitting in a Tuscan trattoria. The menu boats the pizzas only take 9 seconds to cook in their authentic Italian made pizza ovens but I could have waited 9 hours for that pizza. The base was exquisite, the sauce delightful and to be honest, there was no need for any other toppings.
Then both myself and my wife enjoyed some cheesecake. I had a pistachio based one and that was the perfect finish.
All in all we were there for about an hour at a busy time on a Saturday evening but it never felt busy and we didn't feel rushed. The food was amazing and I'll definitely...
Read moreAte here a few days ago. The restaurant has a modern and clean look with an authentic touch. The service was very swift. We ordered the cured meats and crochette al formaggio as starters and the pizza Margherita and pizza Parma (both with added buffalo mozzarella, photos attached) as our main course. The cured meats were lovely and a great combination with the fresh flavour of the buffalo mozzarella. The only point of attention being that we would have liked a little more mozzarella with the different types of meat, the balance seemed a little off there. Both of our pizzas were fantastic. A very tasty crust, nice and firm bottom, and the right amount of toppings. The extra buffalo mozzarella also adds a lot to the pizza, I would highly recommend it. One small thing that could be improved about the Parma pizza is the rocket that is put under some of the toppings which makes it soggy and more like spinach. In my opinion this is not adding anything to the taste. Prices are very reasonable and can be found on the restaurant’s site. All in all I would highly recommend Pomo...

While all their pizzas looked amazing, I opted for one of the vegetarian delights and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had. The attention to detail in the toppings and the flawless quality of the dough made every bite a delight. The crust had that perfect balance of a crisp exterior and a light, chewy interior, which is a testament to true Neapolitan-style pizza.
It's clear that Pomo Pizzeria puts a lot of care into sourcing their ingredients, as the fresh vegetables and rich, flavorful sauce truly shined. If you're in Edinburgh and looking for a meal that won't disappoint, you have to try their vegetarian pizza. It's an unforgettable experience that proves vegetarian dishes can be the highlight...
