Made a reservation via Facebook for 7.30pm on Monday. Arrived there on time and got our table straightaway so it was good. My partner and I selected the all you can eat sushi, a very good concept and this is how it all started.
Most dishes took a long time to arrive, waited two hours for the sushi to arrive but still no sign of it so had to take it in a box (and there's about 15-30 mins waiting for it). Witnessed 2 sets of a la carte customer arrived later than us and left before us even before we got our sushi. It sounds like as if they don't want us to have any extra sushi except for the first round that we ordered (but to be honest, after a long time of waiting, we just wanted to get out of the restaurant asap).
Staff was very apologetic and explained that there was a mess up with the order, but the table sat next to us who ordered from the all you can eat menu have the same issue, and the fact that most a la carte customer got their food with no issue so who know.
In summary, food was nice, service was extremely slow, would have give them a lower score if not the apologising staff. Not too bad of a Japanese restaurant but maybe order from the a la carte rather than all...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent for lunch today, it was very disappointed!! We really like good Japanese food so weād go for lunch to different Japanese while visiting Edinburgh each day. I was so looking forward to roasted pork ramen ( I had that yesterday at Hakataya restaurant, food there was just like I had in Japan, really good! ) but here ramen doesnāt look like anything in their menu photo at all. Itās noodle soup with too sloppy noodles, cheap pork meat bits tested like sparerib rather than beautiful slices. I didnāt eat it at all. Oh if you like traditional agedashi tofu donāt get it!, theyāre not silky tofu. Sashimi is also not good quality compared to other places. I left ramen but we finished other dishes coz we were hungry. The bill was about Ā£100 we told the waitress about ramen, they didnāt give us a refund. Thatās ok. But it still doesnāt change the fact that food doesnāt serve as it was described in the menu. I know itās not very easy to find good places for Japanese but weāve never been anywhere so disappointed like here. To be fair, it probably a little bit better than Yo sushi. But we donāt go to Yo...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe worst experience during the whole Edinburgh trip.
I never expected real sushi taste but it's even much much less than that low level expectation.
I ordered a tasting plate course and I never experienced that level of slow service before. Almost 30 min gap between each small sampling plate.
I sat in front of an empty plate for an hour and twenty minutes in an hour and a half, and before the course was over, I asked for a bill, paid for it, and came out.
And seriously, what is the problem with the Asian woman server?
I asked her if I could order Guinness, and she looked at me with a look of complete ignorance.
I thought it could be because my English pronunciation is not good, so I talked with various pronunciations four times in a row.
And She still looked as if she knew nothing.
For your information, I have ordered Guinness pints at least 10 times in Dublin over the past few days.
Did she really not understand?
Of course, there may be no Guinness in the store. If you don't have it, wouldn't you just say you don't have?
I can't believe that Asian is doing like this to...
